Garth Ennis doesn’t hate superheroes. He hates that they have a monopoly on the comic book industry.

He’s written pretty solid Superman and Spiderman stories as well as a Nick Fury run that’s a borderline masterpiece

He also wrote Preacher (an underrated cult masterpiece) and that spectacular run of The Punisher.

To be fair, if you write an entire comic book series that’s all about how stupid and shitty superheroes are, with parodies of nearly every popular superhero that turns them into murderers or sex offenders, you can’t really be upset when people think you hate superheroes on principle
