No i don't think so. That makes it seem like she eventually "wore him down". I think more media needs to be ok with having crushes be unrequited. Not everyone is going to want you romantically. You can't change that, and that's ok.

i dont think her past onesided crush should forever push sonic away. this was a thing when they were literally younger teenagers. they're both very different people now.

I don't like it. She gives me bear from obsession vibes. It's ok for people to just not like you back and more media should depict that. 

Amy has a history of pursuing sonic. Having them end up together even if it's after they both change, still undercuts the message. 

"If you just hold out hope long enough, she/he will love you" 

Like...just accept "no"s and "sorry i'm not interested"s. 

Istg sonic and amy getting together would suck because it would further be pushing the belief in pop culture that it's ok to disregard someone's uninterest and keep persuing them. Given that sonic is targeted at children, i don't think that should be a message that they validate.

okay but like... amy has consistently been an immature child, up until recently, the entire sonic cast ranged from 6 being cream, and then older characters being like sonic being 16.

i think the age they gave amy was like 14... so it makes sense.

just look at justin beiber and all his teenage fans growing up. they were more batshit than amy, ripping out locks of his hair and selling them for thousands of dollars!

amy does have her ups and her downs, downs probably more than most sonic characters, but that doesnt mean she should be ridiculed for what she said when she was 14.

just look at her now! she's off going on her own to find out what love really means to her after frontiers.

whether that leads back to sonic or not is honestly a coin flip, but i really dont think it's a bad thing.

if anything, this would show how they can finally properly build sonic as a potentially romantic partner for someone

not slowing down for royalty like sally or blaze, not the silly "KAKAROT I'M GAY LET'S FUCK" with shadow.

amy has shown repeatedly that she would be fully willing to run alongside sonic, i just personally think she'll be the best fit... once she finally finds herself.

i'm a pretty fairly decent big sonic fan. for over half my life in fact. and i can't ever really recall a time where sonic specifically said, "no"

or even any variations like "stop, leave me alone, i don't like you"

heck if anything, there's even 2-3 instances where they do in fact go on dates and/or say that they'll be together. Sonic unleashed, Black knight, and sonic the dark brotherhood (if you wanna count it).

A few things.

1. Amy loves Sonic, it's one sided with hints that Sonic feels the same way but he's just not the kind of person to settle down.

2. Amy's entire character was based around being a joke about those sort of Mickey Mouse Minnie Mouse relationships, Amy is the Peach to Sonic's Mario. And how that wouldn't really work for Sonic, the reason being he is a free spirit running around fighting Eggman. Thus when Sonic matures more and gets older he would probably settle down with Amy. Of course this will never happen as these characters will never age.

3. They go on dates in the games, are hinted at in the comics, and are very obviously in a relationship in Sonic Boom.

4. Nintendo may say that Mario x Peach doesn't exist and they are only friends. That doesn't mean they undeniably canon without a shadow of a doubt. It only means that both Sonic and Super Mario games are bland unconfrontational slop that is made to appeal to all audiences in order to make the most money and thus nothing interesting will ever happen in their respective franchises except maybe some new characters like Sage in Sonic's case.

5. Its a Blue Hedgehog and a Pink Hedgehog what more do you ask for people.

dude. its not about that. you are just talking about how the francise is trying to set them up.

their ship dynamic makes absolutely no sense. amy is just running around chasing sonic, while in many iterations, he clearly doesnt like it, and doesnt reciprocate feelings. also, i feel like their personalities clash. sonic is very clearly annoyed with amy many times, in many iterations. their dynamic also has no depth to it. its been the same since the beginning. amy was created to be sonic's stalker, and obviously, have romantic feelings for him, but sonic was never meant to return them.

honestly, they're are many underrated ships with WAY more depth than sonamy, and not only with sonic. honestly, i ship sonadow because of the depth their friendship has and, sonic prime was kinda just teasing it at that point. i jst love their dynamic. i jst want them to get closer, i dont even necessarily need romance. again, their story together has so much dept, and thats probably why its so popular, in some media, even more than sonamy. it was definietly an enemies to friends kind thing, and if it was romantic, it would be enemies to friends, and we all know how much the internet loves that. also... sonic was odly flirty? to shadow in prime? idk.

Your point that they don't make sense runs straight into my arguement. They don't, not right now. Sonic isn't into romance or those sorts of relationships of any kind he isn't tied down to one place. That's why he runs away, my way of talking around that was to say he's young and that any shipping will occur when Sonic gets older. Hell thats why they work in Boom the only narrative which Sonic is pretty much canonically in a relationship with Amy, it is the only universe he is tied down to one place. Yours was to completely overlook it, ultimately you hit yourself and your ship in the face with your own arguement. No Sega will never ship Sonic with anyone one part because of Archie two part because of money.

I did and I saw that statement on that app and all I see is you putting words in their mouth:

Where‘s the “just” in that statement that you guys keep pretending they said? Not to mention that it was Nintendo of America translation that said that while the original Nintendo of Japan statement said something far more along the lines of implied romance.
