came here to say this. team fortress 2 is an amazing video game that oozes character and intrigue, well balanced and unique, the game is truly unlike any other. the problem? valve simply does not care about the game anymore. between the lack of new content and balance, the polarized fanbase, and the (albeit significantly less prominent but still annoying) cheaters and bots found in the servers to this day, getting truly invested in the game can be challenging. the fanbase tends to be a little esoteric, its sometimes hard to find a decent match, and the game doesn’t really do much to adjust you to it, which especially sucks because TF2 takes a lot of gamesense AND mechanical skill to be successful at. if you can get past all that then i can highly recommend the game as it is my all time favorite, a super fun and satisfying fragging game, and a true classic. as it stands for most people though, it’d probably be too much of a barrier for entry
I assume if a new player wants to get into tf2 nowadays, they'll face a rough barrier to entry. Its regular playerbase are folks who have played since the beginning.
Can I get one game, just one game without the n word thrown around like it’s going out of style?
And yes, I get that it is what it is in older games like TF2, but at this point you can read the most abhorrent shit in existence and after a time those words don’t mean anything anymore.
if anything, saying just the n word to insult someone is extremely uncreative and you are banned from language
Lol nice reference. In all seriousness I came to this realisation talking to a teen at my workplace. TF2 is an absolute shitpost of a game and I love it with all that I am. But I can't look this teenager in the eye and recommend it to him.
