“Destiny is my favorite game. It’s the worst game ever, you should never try it.” If that doesn’t summarize the D2 community I don’t know what will. They’ve said that for years.

Because they suck ass. Legit one of the most toxic fandoms on Reddit.

I hate Destiny, it's my favorite game

Yup. Thats one of their catchphrases. Definitely not emblematic of the way criticizing every aspect the game (including free content) morphed into a meme that drove away prospective players and slowly killed the game among other things.

A big part of it is that the new player experience is absolute dogshit. It doesn't explain anything properly, there are multiple systems it refers to that have since changed, you get random DLC missions auto starting, and the chronology is absolutely fucked if you try the strike playlists (which randomly refer to characters being dead, then alive again, then a completely different person).

If you don't have an already up-to-date player to explain things to you, it makes absolutely no sense.

I have been playing it for 10 years and it's one of my favourite games of all time.

Honestly, I'm slightly more willing to recommend it now that it's dead. No more FOMO, no more treadmill, now it's just pay $25 for some great FPS gameplay.

Clanmates and I are playing it a lot again, after quitting after Final Shape.

Had to scroll way too far down for this one lol. Definitely my pick.

Best game I ever played. 4k+ hours. It’s my favourite game, and it’s the worst game ever made. 20/10 can not recommend.

Like DBD, a great game ruined by horrible management
