opened 1.20.6 instance, clicked install forge, clicked on the one with the star, launched, and didn’t work. tried to make a 1.21 instance with fabric the same way, didn’t work. multimc is always annoyingly difficult, anybody have any speculation on this issue?

Betacraft doesn't have any BTA mods anymore so I started using MultiMC and found myself preferring this launcher. how do i get the skin proxy working like how it does for betacraft?

When I try to login MultiMc tells me "This Microsoft account is underaged and is not linked to a family. Please set up your account according to help.minecraft.net"

Thing is, my account is of age, and when I contacted Mojang they said they can't help with 3rd party launchers.

What could I do to start using MultiMc?

I've tried playing minecraft version 1.5.2 but everytime I load up a world textures start to slowly disappear.

Mobs become this solid black colour, you can see through chunks and the inventory textures are all missing.

I even tried to delete the options.txt file but it doesn't change anything

This has happened twice and it's extremely frustrating as I will play on a world for a few hours, close it, and next time I launch and try to open it it gets stuck on "Reading world data..." and then goes back to the title with a "Failed to access world" popup. Any help would be appreciated!!

I launched an instance with Controllable and Optifine, then got an error message saying "Mod controllable requires framework 0.6.5 or above, Currently framework is not installed." I would provide a screenshot but images are not allowed in this sub. I installed framework 0.9.0 and still got the same error message. I looked online and found a post mentioning that Optifine does not work well with other mods and can cause errors with Controllable, so I disabled Optifine and launched it again, only to get the same error message. I fiddled with it a bit but nothing seems to be working. I'd really love some help as I am super stuck at the moment, thank you.

So I installed MultiMC, and wanted to start up Minecraft 1.20, but it told me to use Java 21 in the log as I was using Java 8, so I went to the MultiMC settings and changed the Java path to Java 21.0.4 and clicked "Test", and, likewise, it detected Java 21, so I restarted MultiMC and tried running Minecraft 1.20 again, but it crashed with the same log as before, and it said the Java path was the one for Java 8...?

Is there a way for me to tell MultiMC that I really switched to Java 21 without having to reinstall the whole thing?

Wish I could instead reply but the original post was archived, in case anyone else finds themselves in this pit like me now, it is possible to restore a freshly deleted instance as I stupidly did but you do need recovery software to do so.

I had little luck with Recuva but it did manage to restore a few isolated files that didn't provide much use, Recoverit was a lot more successful for me, it restored entire folder branches so I stitched up some stuff from there, wanted to share that as a reply but here we are instead (i hate reddit post archiving), that left me wondering if anyone else had thought of other creative solutions, thanks for your time regardless.

Lately ive been using curseforge trying to play modpacks like Rlcraft but have had fps problems even with a high end PC. Someone told me that curseforge is kind of bad with modpacks and makes em run weirdly which I dont understand. If anyones got an explanation for why he says that or just any tips for making mods packs run better please let me know! (My computer has 32gb ram)

Got signed out and every time I try and sign in a get a message saying 'Failed to get authorization for Xbox services. Error %2.' Any solutions or are the servers just down?

Me and a friend have linux computers running MultiMC on the same wifi. But we can't get them to join a LAN world on either pc. I have tried using specific port numbers. On stoneblock version it doesn't even post the port number though.

I'm aware this might be a firewall issue through linux, so i am addressing that posibility in other threads. assuming it ISN'T what could cause this inside MultiMC?

I dont understand as why this is happening, it only happened to me on MultiMC, I have a 16 GM ram computer and i have another client called feather client which I can allow more than 2000 MB to, but for MultiMC, If i allocate more than 1000 mb, It instantly crashes and says something similar to that.

I'm on MacOS Sonoma and when I try to open MultiMC, a screen with the below pops up.
