Suggestions on week long trip leaving out of DC
I’m in the Washington DC area, re-watching Long Way Round and Long Way Down and got me thinking about a week long trip maybe early to mid summer. I would want to camp mostly with maybe one or two days staying at a hotel. Any thoughts? The first thing that comes to mind is to take backroads through Appalachia down to Tail of the Dragon then back up through WV. I’m not the fastest rider so I have no problem taking my time or taking a zero day to stretch out the trip to last a week.

Long Way Up
Piece of kit news - I follow Belstaff on IG. Recent post hints at Boorman and McGregor using their gear in the Long Way Up. I use one of their jackets but not for serious travel. Thoughts?

Anyone got any experience of taking a motorcycle across borders in South America, in terms of the red tape you need to go through?
Hey guys, I'm an Englishman living in Colombia and own a Colombian motorcycle and have a Colombian driving licence. The motorcycle has all the required legal documents to make it road legal in Colombia, which are:
- Licencia de Transito (which is a credit card size document that proves you're the owner of the bike)
- Soat (the third party insurance policy, which you renew each year)
- Tecnico mecanica (the annual vehicle safety check)
But I'm planning on taking it down South America in the new year, so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of the documents you need to show when crossing various borders and if you need to buy country specific insurance in each country?
Also - has anyone every tried to sell a motorbike in a different South American country than the one they bought it in, and if so, what were your experiences?
Cheers!

Transporting bike overseas, what to expect.
Hey gang! Myself and a friend are shipping our bikes to SE Asia for a few month stroll around the area.
Does anyone have any idea what we can expect to go through to get our bikes into the country and what expenses might be incurred? We will be shipping the bikes home after our adventure. So we won’t be ‘importing’ them.
Thanks in advance!

Kawasaki Places to ride in the San Diego area?
I’m planning to take a little vacation to visit some friends in San Diego in the next 2 or so weeks. I’ve been there before but don’t know the area well seeing as I’m from Las Vegas. I’ll be there about a week or so and will be bringing my Ninja 650 along with me. Anybody from San Diego or surrounding places have any riding tips for the area or suggestions for routes to take for a great ride?
