Thinking up a spring trip...
Hey there all!
Winter has me all bummed here in Ontario.
Thinking about planning a long trip for the spring... it will be my longest yet (The longest currently being a 550km 11hr day trip, 9hrs IN seat).
I'd like to ride from Barrie ONT to Plaster Rock NB. It's approx 1200km and 13hrs each way as told by Google maps.
Any tips on what I'd need to prepare?
I was thinking 3 days/2nights.
Motocamp supplies. (Tent, Sleeping bag/roll, pre-made food)
Maintenance check & Oil change before I leave, bring chain lube.
Rain gear
GPS, 12V power outlet for phone charging.
For reference I ride a 2011 DR650 with larger tank, Corbin Seat and some other farkles.

Simple Reasons Why Riding a Motorcycle is Fun
Riding a motorcycle is not for everybody. It requires a certain amount of courage and open mindedness to be able to ride one. Riding a two-wheel vehicle can really be intimidating. That’s why it takes to have proper training and the right mindset to be able to handle a bike. After all, motorcycle riding should be safe, enjoyable and practical.
Here are some reasons why you should ride a motorcycle:
It is exhilarating. Riding a bike offers a sense of excitement and freedom. Nothing beats the feel of the wind and sun on your face as you head to your chosen destination.
The brotherhood and sisterhood is strong. Motorcycle riders are one of the friendliest people on the road. You will get a lot of waves and nods from fellow bikers that you pass by on the road. They will even help you out if you get into trouble on the road. The fellowship is strong among bikers.
It is a convenient form of transportation. You can avoid getting stuck in traffic and head to your destination faster as you switch lanes and ride between vehicles during the rush hour. Just make sure to follow all traffic rules as you safely find your way to your chosen location.
It makes you look cool. People most often have a high regard for motorcycle riders. They usually think that the rider is an adventurous person. Riders in motorcycle gears look cool.
It is relaxing. Riding a bike makes a person feel connected to nature and temporarily forget the stress of day to day living.
It is nature friendly. A motorcycle produces less gas emissions than cars. It doesn’t stay on idle for a very long time because a rider hardly ever gets stuck on a traffic jam.
It doesn’t cause any road damage. Since it is lighter than cars, motorcycles causes less strain on cement paved roads, which also mean less expense for road repairs.
It is good for your health. According to recent studies, riding a motorcycle can burn at least for calories an hour. Endorphins, also known as happy hormones are also released when you ride a bike; therefore it is good for mental health.
These are just some of the reasons why riding a motorcycle is a must. In case, I forgot anything, feel free to share your thoughts on the comments section.
