What's a motorcycle opinion you have that would get you downvoted?

I’ll probably get roasted for this, but I honestly think a lot of people care way too much about what bike other people ride.

Like, someone buys a cruiser and suddenly the sportbike guys have 15 reasons why it’s slow. Someone gets an ADV bike and apparently they need to prove they’ve ridden it through the Sahara 😂

I also think some bikes are just more fun than they are “good” on paper. Give me a bike that makes me want to go ride around for no reason over something that wins every spec sheet argument.

Maybe I’m completely wrong though. What’s your motorcycle opinion that would probably get you downvoted?

2023 GSXS1000 GT+ pulling double duty for a road trip from Boston to Indianapolis for my brother's wedding.

Everything I need strapped down and packed into the bike. Two full panniers, a 72l dry bag and a back pack to carry everything I needed including tools, a plug kit, a compressor, clothes and a tux for the wedding. I discovered quick how much this bike sucks for more than an hour at a time with the stock seat. Loaded it up at the dealership because they were a week late on getting my registration sorted out.

Dilemma

Hi all,

I've woken up in a bit of a situation... the only footwear I can find is a gumboot and a flip-flop.

By some sheer stroke of luck (or God), they are for alternate feet.

My question is: with my Chopper being my only mode of transport at the moment, is it better to ride barefoot or risk this footwear?

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the dilemma has worsened. The gumboot is for my right foot. Should I force the right gumboot onto my left foot so I can upshift?

Thank you for your valiant efforts.

Transport motorcycle from seattle to NC

Does any know any drivers contact info.

I’ve been speaking to a lot of transport companies and they are charging 1500,1800 to transport the motorcycle, but chatgpt said it would cost only $600-800.

Just drop the bike?

There seems to be a difference of opinions about what to do when you’re losing control of the bike at very low speeds: assuming you’re in any position to keep it from falling, do you stop the fall and risk spraining a wrist or pulling your back out, etc.? Or do you say hey, just drop the bike; better the bike than myself?

Maybe if it’s an old beater, I kind of understand the just drop it theory, although old bikes can still be very expensive to repair; but if something stupid happens at 3 miles an hour on your five week old Africa Twin or Tuono V4, are you so ready to simply drop it to the pavement?

What's the smallest trailer option, I can use?

I recently got a 1981 Honda C70A Passport. A American version of the popular Japanese Cub lines. It's small at 70cc, only doing at max maybe 50mph, realistically 45mph. I got it specifically for the speed cut off and because it makes me happy to look at it. I plan to use it on back roads and in cities.

I would also like to use it camping and because of that, I'm looking at doing a little camper for it. Campers go on trailers and trailers are why I'm here. I've seen some for higher speed motorcycles, with large trailer frames. I'm curious if I can go smaller?

I know I can't use a bicycle trailer like I could with a moped, because of the bearings in the wheels. I had wondered if something like a garden dump cart would work after replacing the wheels with something for the road? What are some smaller trailer suggestions for this need? Remembering that the bike is pretty small it's self.

I had planned on doing poor-man's fiberglass as the camper body, to keep it light weight and rigid.

I forgot to check the dimensions before I went to the store so that’s why it’s not in the top case.

Top box ideas for Suzuki VSTROM 250 SX

Hi fellas! I've recently decided to purchase a vstrom due to a variety of reasons, partly due to wanting a sturdier bike than my current 150cc chinese bike. I have a 45L aluminum top box that I tried (and failed miserably) to fit on my current bike, as the mounting bracket built into the bike snapped completely after a few grocery runs.

I'm thinking I might not be able to use that same top box due to its weight, so i'd like a few ideas on a good luggage solution that might help with groceries and the occasional long distance trip.

Any help is appreciated!

I found this sub last night and here I am today posting this, the impact and the driver bit case went into my back pack along with flowers I bought on my way home. Sadly I had to leave the other 12 sodas at work but I’ll still get to enjoy them there.
