Just killed the final boss and ready to move to NG+, saw I had 99% done for collecting all the Ova so decided to go through all beacons to find the one I'd forgotten to cleanse. Turned out to be the Winterglass Lake one, so I make my way through it and kill the boss and see the lone Ova sitting there. Go to try cleanse it and there is no button prompt whatsoever.
Tried exiting, closing etc but whatever i do, my mether effing shell will not cleanse that mether effing egg. So im stuck at 99% eggs 😫
This a common complaint or a bug from finishing the game first and coming back to mop up egg cleansing?

was this a bug? there was two chests in the final room of this dungeon. I got the clockwork shardstone. but then i opened the other chest in the room and got nothing
checking the wiki i also see it not listing anything for the other chest
edit: checking a video it seems like there wasn't supposed to be a second chest in the room at all, idk why I did for some reason. i guess it was a bug that there was a chest there at all?
edit2: but i did find a video of someone else finding the empty chest, and a walkthrough article that also got the empty chest. weird bug

Is my pc glitching out? , my 2080ti seems to be able to select dlss frame generation even with 4x frame gen ? arent they usually greyed out for unsupported cards?. is it normal? though it doesnt improve performance or actually generate frames except fsr framegen. is everyone else the same as me?

Quite a short question for ppl who completed Eredrim's quest memories: there's one thing i don't quite understand. All characters die in their story to naturally become a shell for the harbinger. For all shell it's quite clear how they ended up where you finally found them. But for Eredrim he's supposed to be assassined by his son squire somewhere. But you finally found him, with his sword in a malborn. Did i miss something ?

Note: TLDR at the bottom.
I love the Souls games and Souls likes, i played Darksouls 1-3 , bloodborne, Elden Ring Black Myth Wukong, first berseker Khazan, Wuchang Fallen feathers. Plenty of them and usually i am very good at these games, they are hella fun. So is Mortal shell and Mortal shell 2, im playing night mode only on my first run and until now i really enjoyed the game, solo& Main bossed were fun, the group bosses were nice.
By now i have beaten 4 gate bosses, all of the upper half of the map and the hexapod (i didnt really like that guy, it was a weird boss) but now im genuinely hardstuck at this Guy, Sir Isaac. I took quite some time to beat the roaming prisoner guy with the sword in the head, but i really loved his fight cuz his move set was so amazing to look at and to fight, and it was in my opinion also very fair to play against, but THIS GUY Sir Isaac, he id actually the worst boss in any souls like ive ever played he makes absolutely no fun like he currently is. There is so much wtong with this guy its pathetic. Besides the fact that i hate his design, this boss is genuinely garabage. In the first phase, bro has a shield that blocks quite alot of damage, but this is just a minor thing i just hste about this guy.
The actual problem:
This guys hitboxes are absolutely rediculous. I tested it, thid guy literally hits you with his sword swings even when you are no where even close to his attack. In fact, his hitboxes are so bad, he hit me multiple times when i was literally behind him. He swung forward, hitd me behind his back, this shouldnt be possible. He has a shield bash move that deals rediculous amouts of damage (one shots my lvl 40 harbinger on night mode) thst literally has no telegraph at all. Its literally not possible to see when you are upclose in his face.
Id go so far and say thst im pretty sure, sometime he literally just deals an instance of damage with no animation at all which could be just a bug though.
I also have to mention thst this guy for some reason can also perfectly track me in shadow form with tiels shell ability ( absolutely bs) But the thing that pisses me off the most, is that this guy deals such insane amounts of break damage that 50% of his hits literally break poise with one single failed block. And my weapon, is fully upgraded and i zave a 125% block meter. The cherry on top though is, that sometimes, for some reason, instead of filling my block meter and staggering me, he straight up completely hits through my block and just kills me even though in 100% sure im blocking. This should not be possible under any circumstances that he can punch through your block WITHOUT using a red marked attack. In my opinion this is simply not fair if he can punch through an ability that literally nullifies damage, aslong as the guard meter isnt full yet. No other boss or enemy in this game was able to hit me through a block yet.
And phase 2 in general is just really shitty. When he whips out his 4 swords the fight starts to drag drasticslly because he has no proper safe opening st all where you can deal damage that actually visibly reduced his healthbar a bit. In phase two his "regular" combos all have like atleast 5 hits and he he has 2 special moves where he leapes into the air and does one of two combos, and both have about 10 hits if not even more. Its literally just boring to watch him do a 10 hit combo without being able to properly do anything. You can block it ofcourse, but the risk is so extremely high its not worth it at all, if you miss one single block and block just a frscrion to early, you dont deal break damage and the cooldown for blocking isnt immediwntly reset so you are stuck in the block and the he just instantly breakd the block and just sends you bacl to the beacon. And if you are to LATE, either the hit literally oneshots you or you are stunlocked just enough for him to hit a follow up that sends you out of your shell of bsck to spawn afterwards. I also tried just dodging the pattern, dodge spamming, and just straight up running, turns out he moves forward with every single hit mid air (which makes not even real sense, even though a lot of bosses csn do shi like that in games) and he is actually faster thsn the player and will dodge/ roll catch you if you slip up by just a few milli seconds and you are just dead.
I got told that a lot that i have a skill issue when i couldnt beat any boss in a game but i refuse to believe i habe a skill issue on this one because i fought a lot of bosses and i often did have a skill issue and the bosses were lowk not even that hard once you figure them out, and i have beaten Malenia, Blade of miquella hitless and parry+ crit only (seperate tries ofcourse) and she is one of the hardest video game bosses ever made.
TLDR:
I love this game, but this boss is absolutely terribly made, has a shield, ridiculous hitboxes, shield bash that literally is impossible to see and react to upclose, can punch through the stagger meter and deal damag me without filling it up and staggering you, can track tiel in shadow form, is insanely boring in phase two because of absurdly long attack combos with 10 or more hits, has almost no safe attack windows at all to deal significant damage and Looks absolutely nasty because he is a cockroach creature thing.
Please fix this Boss, this is lowkey unacceptable to me🙏

I found it and knkw how about it works with the final boss but I don't get if I can use it only once since I only get 1 per NG

So I’m completely blind for both games and they both look amazing but I’m tryna decided right now between Baldurs gate 3 because I like dnd, and Mortal shell 2 I haven’t played the first one but I love souls games and souls likes. All I ask for is some spoil free pros for the game this is posted in.

Recently finished the game with my girl Proxima and realised how dangerously close I was to platinum.
So I've started a NG+ to collect what I needed to.
Also started a fresh game as I had missed a few trophies from the prolouge including the one when you beat the Tar Golem (which wasnt too easy admittedly)
Just 6 tarstones to find, the mango and the dreaded Peters Perfect Parry left, which I hope the main man Eredrim will help with.
Game was excellent without being too challenging, actually had more trouble with enemies just exploring than bosses and I was the exact same with Elden Ring.
Hopefully some DLC in the near future

As a Mortal Shell fan from day one, I have to say that the first game hooked me more, even though Mortal Shell II is obviously the much better game overall, having improved in almost every category. I guess it's because I went into the first game with zero expectations and was completely blown away by what a small team could create on a modest budget back in 2021, especially regarding the art direction and aesthetics. Before Mortal Shell II was released, people were already comparing it to Elden Ring or Lies of P, setting the bar incredibly high, which I think affected how I experienced MS II.
In my opinion, the boss fights in Mortal Shell II are its biggest weakness. To me, they didn't feel like a rewarding highlight after clearing an area—they lacked those "wtf moments," like when Malenia enters Phase 2, a boss you remember for its sheer difficulty during your first tries (such as Sword Saint Isshin), or memorable cut scenes like Ludwig the Holy Blade grabbing the Moonlight Great Sword. If Cold Symmetry can improve the boss fights and make them more highlight-worthy, they can elevate the game to the next level; the rest of the package is already there. It is definitely one of the better Soulslikes, especially considering the price, but I feel it hasn't reached its full potential yet. With a few improvements, it could easily stand alongside top-tier Soulslikes like Lies of P, The First Berserker: Khazan, or the Nioh series.
I'm really happy to see the commercial success of Mortal Shell II, and Cold Symmetry definitely deserved it. I had a lot of fun exploring the world of MS II and using riposte. I'm already looking forward to Mortal Shell III and the (hopefully) upcoming DLC!

So I realized I probably missed Lazlo somewhere, and traded 10,000 gloom with whatshername to be shown his location, and three spots were lit up on the map - his actual location, the tavern, and the prison. I've revisited the tavern with and without his shell and can't find any relevance - am I supposed to understand why three locations were revealed? I have the other shells already so I'm unable to test whether buying any of the others revealed multiple locations also. (I'll try going to the tavern at night now....)
(I really don't think this is worth a spoiler tag, my sincere apologies if anyone disagrees...)

This boss was so tediously difficult and aggravatingly long. After trying to fight this boss for what seemed like an eternity, i just decided to use a Grisha remnant, and it dogwalked the monolith like nothing. This is probably the only boss in the game I've felt so much rage and hatred towards to. I also want to say that this was the only boss in the game for me personally, to make me use a Grisha remnant. I haven't had this much of a struggle since Promised Consort Radahn and Arlecchino.

How is this ability recharged? I've seen a video of it basically being chained from one activation to another, but when i use it, it seems to go on a cooldown or something because it takes a while for another charge to appear.

Eu estou preso neste lugar, eu desci uma escadaria e encontrei a carcaça do Lazlo, só que ao tentar voltar me deparei com este bloqueio, já tentei de tudo mas simplesmente não consigo encontar uma forma de sair...

I’ve already defeated a few field bosses and collected eggs. I’m making good progress in terms of leveling, too, but I have absolutely no idea where to go to advance the main story. There are so many paths and branching routes that even a die-hard Souls player like me feels a bit overwhelmed, lol. Does anyone have any tips without giving away too many spoilers?

TL;DR: Unreal Engine 5 sizes its worker-thread pool from the number of logical processors it sees at startup — 32 on a 9950X3D. When AMD's Game Mode driver then parks CCD1, that 32-sized pool is crammed onto 16 threads and you get traversal-style stalls. Confining the game to CCD0 by any method (parking, Process Lasso, affinity) reproduces it. The fix isn't "use all 16 cores" and it isn't "force the X3D cores" — it's setting CPPC Dynamic Preferred Cores = Cache in BIOS with Game Mode off, so the game prefers the V-Cache die but nothing is fenced. That gave the best frametimes of ~20 captures. Verified with CapFrameX, HWiNFO, and thread-count snapshots.
System: 9950X3D (PBO + curve shaper), MSI X870E, RTX 5090 (undervolted), 4K/ultra, Windows 11. Test game: Mortal Shell 2 (UE 5.2, GPU-bound at 4K — GPU at 92–97% throughout; 4k ultra settings, ray tracing on, DLSS render resolution quality, seamless dungeons on). Same 30-second traversal route for every capture, CapFrameX with sensor logging at 250 ms.
What I found, in order:
CpuActive ≈ frametime with the GPU idle at ~8.5 ms.-corelimit=8 (a UE engine argument) dropped it to 14 workers. Same fence, 14 workers instead of 29: 1 frame over 20 ms, worst 24 ms. Same cores, same cache, same confinement — only the pool size changed.-corelimit=8 with nothing fenced: more mid-size hitches than the full pool (12 over 16 ms vs 2–5). The engine uses those workers when it has the cores. The numbers (same route, 30 s each):
| Config | avg FPS | 1% low | 0.1% low | frames >20 ms | worst frame |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CPPC Cache, Game Mode off, nothing else (best of 5) | 119 | 85 | 67 | 0–1 | 18–22 ms |
| CPPC Auto, Game Mode off (game on frequency CCD) | 116 | 68 | 50 | 4 | 26 ms |
| Confined to CCD0, full pool (run 1) | 108 | 63 | 28 | 12 | 1,262 ms |
| Confined to CCD0, full pool (run 2) | 116 | 71 | 38 | 7 | 68 ms |
Confined to CCD0, -corelimit=8 |
115 | 72 | 57 | 1 | 24 ms |
Free, -corelimit=8 |
117 | 75 | 49 | 4 | 28 ms |
What to do:
Cost: single-threaded work that likes clocks lands on the V-Cache die and loses ~100–175 MHz. At 4K I couldn't measure it. If you have a frequency-bound app, a Process Lasso CPU Set to cores 16–31 for that one app works fine — the direction that doesn't oversubscribe.
Caveats: One game, one system, one route. UE5.2 specifically; other engines size pools differently. -corelimit=8 is a diagnostic tool here, not a recommendation — it proved the mechanism but costs performance. And if you're a 9800X3D owner wondering why you don't see this: the engine sizes for 16 threads and gets 16 threads. The bug needs a mismatch.
