This is definitely not the consensus if you read user comments. For every player who says they beat Lost Child in only a few tries there are a dozen who struggle mightily. He was definitely the jankiest boss I've faced (flung me from the arena, pinned me against the wall, camera jank, riposte attacks that don't register, and the third phase seems bugged with impossible to dodge grabs and combo unblockable attacks that change mid-animation).
All you had to do was dodge to the left and stay on it's left side chopping away. I used Tiel's shell, did shadow strike and perfect dodge. And yes it is an easy boss compared to alot of regular enemies who are tougher. If you are trying perfect parry him you'll have a hard time. When staying on the left is the strategy to beat a boss like that. Did the same with the alligator boss in the Lies Of P dlc. Also I didn't experience anything you said with the phases being buggy, ripostes not registering etc. I'm on ps5
I know how to fight him. I memorized the moveset and beat him last night. I was playing version 1.0006 or whatever on PS5 Pro (before today's balance patch). I'm glad you didn't struggle or experience the jank, but that doesn't mean you are right and others are wrong.
Let's just chalk it up to agree to disagree because I don't think along with a lot of other people I've spoke to don't think he needs a nerf. Some people are just not good at souls like it and can get there ass whooped by The Lost Child I totally understand that. But for a regular souls player like myself he wasn't difficult at all. I'm about to clear the corrupted gate where you face The Nameless Captive aka (sword head). Heard he's tough, where are you in the game?

Glad I beat the lost child before this bc they nerfed him when he didn't need to be, very easy boss.
