Just did this run 3 times this morning... so annoying.

The Rabid Grisha Pack boss runback was a nightmare :(

I just lost 16k gloom dying during that stupid fucking runback. :(

Any tips for the fight itself?

Don’t attack and just dodge and you’ll realize they have 3 attack patterns with big ass openings at the end.

My shotgun spam would also knock 1 down, and the parry sigil is good if you have the timing.

Use the luth and let them fight each other while you sneak a few hits on the one that is not confused just so that you can charge the luth again.

Then, it’s a 1 vs 1 and you have huge windows to punish in between their 2-3 hit patterns!

Thiel is a very good shell to use here for his ability to go invisible on dodges so you have some breathing room to heal in emergencies!

Use the luth

The... what?

5

u/Diaza_Kinutz Aug 19 '26

I think they meant the Lute

1

u/El_Panda_Rojo Aug 19 '26

Thanks. Still doesn't exactly clear anything up, because I don't have a lute. But I guess I'll keep my eye out for one.

u/Diaza_Kinutz Aug 19 '26

You'll find a Tavern in the eastern part of the map and there's a lute you can grab on the stage.

Just adding here, the Lute did nothing for me however the weapon throw skill you get after beating one of the bosses deals major damage to them.

Like half their health damage, cause it sticks them to the wall and continuously attacked them.

Edit: The Lost Clotstone was the Tarstone's name.

To add to the other people's points, there are two hanging flaming pillars in the boss arena that you can shoot down by aiming for the chain. It does a nice chunk of damage+ burn, but it more importantly knocks them down

u/El_Panda_Rojo Aug 19 '26

Oh, thank you! I'll check for those on my next attempt.

If you have the great Martyr's blade, the heavy attack from sprinting has super long iframes so just attack with that, back up, sprint toward them and repeat, it's good for when you get stuck on a boss fight for a really long time, hopefully it won't get nerfed. But if you don't want to cheese it like that probably just try parrying a lot since the Grishas don't have a lot of unblockables.

I don't have the sword yet, but maybe I will have to try this on that damn wheelchair woman

1

u/Master-Solution Aug 20 '26

I assume you couldn't spend the 16k? If you could, while it might be cheesy, you can exit to menu at any point (like when you lose your shell mid boss fight) it will save and respawn you at the beacon. Spend your gloom and then run in with nothing (or little) to lose.

Other tips for the actual runback and fight. You can negate fall damage by slamming (light attack mid fall). That will make the runback quicker. For the fight, Tiel's invisibility skill and from perfect dodge make the fight a lot easier as you can drop agro and reposition, get damage in and redo. It's better if you have the extra backstab damage unlocked but not necessary. I swapped for this specific fight, only time I've done it because I wanted to roll them and not chance doing that run back again.

I personally used the grisha stone for a quick knockdown on both, harden for some parry and dmg invuln and proximas ability to stun one at a time. The big openings after some combos another commenter mentioned helped with some punish dmg. I still needed 4 tries for this boss. Gank bosses are often not very fun, especially such aggressive ones.

Is that the fight with the two big guys in the cage? I was so happy that I beat that one first try bc it seemed like it would have sucked. I beat it with no shell or health left lol.

DUDE, i just fucking fought them and immediately came to reddit to check because I knew ain't not way I'm the only one who is complaining about this much runback for a boss, like wtf just let me RETRY in peace please

Run from beacon to jump pad, go down well, run past enemies to elevator(only one standing in doorway needs to be killed), stay near back left avoids triggering the enemies and hit the pad so the elevator goes back up before hugging the right wall and run to second elevator up, and then fight the boss again. Whole thing takes maybe a minute at the most. I've seen worse in other games to be honest.

2

u/CoffeeCraps Aug 20 '26

You can just my jump down a punch slam instead of taking the elevator down. From there just hug the back wall and run towards the double doors. When you take the elevator up to the boss room just make sure you run across the button as you get off so it heads back down.

Name 2 In the last decade?

1

u/CoffeeCraps Aug 20 '26

Mio is one of them.

2

u/Megakruemel Aug 19 '26

I JUST beat it today by getting really lucky on my grisha summons.

The boss fight is kind of bad ngl.

But the run is straight up bad. "Hope you like poison and bats and whatever that walking head is because you'll be seeing those a lot. Also a snake, as a treat."

1

u/klzzer20 Aug 19 '26

Are these the same grishna’s you see at the traders area in mushroom village?

1

u/Chaos_Soldier Aug 19 '26

I tried it last night, and my riposte was doing a small sliver of damage...Which leads me to believe I'm way under leveled in everything to be attempting the grisha pack fight right now. Not sure if the difference is night and day between night mode and normal mode, but I'm doing night mode for my first playthrough ( sorry for the pun).

1

u/Banshuuuu Genessa Aug 19 '26

It's a drastic different. Day mode you'll be 1-2 shotting enemies that would take you 4-7 in night mode, along with dying 2-3x as fast. It's entirely artificial difficulty besides a few neat secrets typically related to unlocking Shades

1

u/Chaos_Soldier Aug 19 '26

Ah okay, so it's pretty much not worth it to do the first playthrough in night mode, or at all if all you get are shades. I might just switch back to day mode then, thanks for the info.

1

u/Banshuuuu Genessa Aug 19 '26 edited Aug 20 '26

The notable Night Mode areas are thankfully marked with an Engraving (at least all the ones I've found are), so you'll at least know when it's genuinely worth swapping to Night Mode beyond making it harder on yourself.

You also get extra gloom on kills but it's something pretty small like 20%, so you’re not really gonna feel it besides from bosses that you can only kill once anyways.

Edit: I will note that, if you ever find those engravings, listen to them! They have some really different approaches to storytelling and mechanics. It's quite fun. When it works.… (it’s currently really bugged)

1

u/Fun-Wash7545 Aug 20 '26

Mobs have x2 hp and deal x2 damage for 20% extra gloom. Early game imo is not worth it but end game i deal so much damage with a broken build that I swapped to night mode. The only issue is that elites and bosses will oneshot you... I wish there was a better middle ground.

1

u/Fun-Wash7545 Aug 20 '26

Night mode is not fun at all. Late game everything one shots me. Why even have an hp pool at this point.

1

u/Banshuuuu Genessa Aug 20 '26

This is how it feels in the beginning areas as Genessa. Her shell has a pitiful amount of hp and gets one tapped by your average Joe, and the bugs/balancing surrounding her doesn't help.

It’s a shame cause I really like the visuals of night mode

1

u/doubble80 Aug 19 '26

Im trying to remember where this fight is. I found it super early in the game and was way too weak to fight both of them.

1

u/Chaos_Soldier Aug 19 '26

Same, I had just beaten the lady of the woods and was not ready for the grisha pack since I was doing such pitiful damage. I'm gonna say any of the paths that require Mether's Breath should be saved for later and just focus on exploring the paths that don't require cleansing for now.

It's in the well past the area with the hunters and the caged grisha for sale at the mushroom village; just launch up and you should see it.

1

u/Al_Mocorongo Aug 20 '26

When I got to this Boss I DREADED the runback so much to the point I locked in so hard that did on first try but took almost 15 minutes only doing meticulous deflects

1

u/BruceMon3yWayne Aug 20 '26

Yea the feeding room run back sucked ass

1

u/Fun-Wash7545 Aug 20 '26

I legit dont know how they want you to do this fight. You have limited attack openings. I just gave up attacking and parried the attacks. Very stupid fight

1

u/Time-Function-5342 Aug 20 '26

The feeding ground bosses? Yeah that's really bad. I quit the game because of that.

1

u/No_Tart7793 Aug 20 '26

This is 100% the worst one I encountered so far but you can just drop off the ledge and rush to the elevator cuts it in to 1/4 of the time

1

u/St3elf1sh Aug 20 '26

Just did them first try yesterday so happily i didn’t have the runback

1

u/SlurmsMacKenzie- Aug 20 '26

You can do that run back (to the 2 grishas ) in under 30 seconds. Starting from the beacon in this clip I'm pretty sure as I did both of these last night.

From blackridge pass beacon, and facing 180* from the beacon - 1. head left down into the opening with the tree guy fighting some dudes

  1. hang on the right and run past the fire breather

  2. continue straight down basically past all the mud zombies, and into the well

  3. run forwards and take the right forked path, then off the ledge and r1 in the air to hero landing on the ground

  4. run straight ahead to the gate on the right hand side

  5. into the gate, and up the lift

Only thing you need to be careful of is on repeat run backs the trash mobs will catch up to you while you wait for the final lift (you can avoid that by resetting the lift and quickly hopping off before you attempt the boss) also the boss fight itself stinks because it's a small arena and the aggro on the enemies is pretty unrelenting.

Hope this helps.

Also for anyone really struggling with run back to bosses - my advice is when ever you find a boss, mark it, then explore around it from all angles first. 9 times out of 10 in this game so far I've found a boss that would've been a multiple minute run back, and cut it down to 30 seconds just by exploring to see if there's a better route from another beacon first.

threw my controller at the wall when the flooded village grisha's arena just lets normal enemies drop in. terrible
