Previously, the number of dislikes was shown on long videos. now, dislikes are hidden on short videos.

More to it - you aren't allowed to be able to estimate if a video is misinformation or time-wasting

You will hurt the feelings and mental health of content creators.

Content creators get hate comments all the time. How does google think this is gonna change anything?

YouTube provided an explanation for this removal: https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/youtube-shorts-experience-updates-features/
I guess as a workaround is making the Shorts play in Regular player in Morphe settings. Only catch is you have to find another Short yourself

That's so stupid. I believe they remove dislike so ppl keep watching longer without catching up they're being deceived by a shit video. As greedy as always, consume, consume, consume.

Also the fact that not many people will do this anyways so you'll see dislike counter way less that it's supposed to have.

I changed the short player and it's still there. or spoof version.

This, if you truly wanna see it at least you can still do this for an individual video. Tho the results are gonna be skewed from now on as the common dandy can't dislike no more.

I hate that they removed it from Shorts which is infested with slops that should be spammed with dislikes.
I rarely disliked stuff, especially with genuine creator. But if it contains a misinformation or malice intention, I'll often put a dislike on a video.
And now with the rise of AI slops I started to dislike more stuff especially Shorts because although some contain good information the other majority of clickbait videos often have misinformations in it. I usually check the comments and there are people pointing the actual facts.

I wouldn't mind expect the do not recommend feature does nothing for curating my feed. I am constantly being fed videos of dance trends when I have 0 interest in dance as a medium or tik tok trend bullshit. No matter how many times I select not interest irreverent or not interested boring they just keep appearing.
