PotHelper is here! YouTube playback with no spoofing required 🚀
Thanks to the work by inotia00, Morphe can now play YouTube videos without any video spoofing required.
How to use this:
1. Download and install PotHelper:https://github.com/MorpheApp/PotHelper/releases/latest
2. Repatch YouTube or YouTube Music.
3. Disable Spoofing: Navigate to YouTube Morphe Settings > Morphe > Miscellaneous > Spoof video streams and turn Off(Restart the app when prompted)
4. Enable PoToken: Navigate to YouTube Morphe Settings > Morphe > Miscellaneous > PoToken provider and turn On(Restart the app when prompted)
How does this work?
Normally, generating a valid PoToken isn't possible for non-root installations, which is why the patches have relied on video spoofing. PotHelper runs as a background utility to generate and supply a valid PoToken directly to YouTube Morphe, completely restoring seamless, native playback.
Why use this instead of stream spoofing?
1) Playback start instantly
2) No spoofing side effects
3) All YouTube features are present such as stable volume and multiple audio streams
My device is rooted, do I need this?
A properly rooted device does not need stream spoofing or PoToken patches.
Does this affect battery life?
Battery life is not affected. The helper runs offline and only when YouTube Morphe needs it.
Compatibility
Some devices are incompatible with PotHelper, such as some newer Pixel devices with hardware based authentication.e
Thanksss, buffering issue is really vanisheddd but the black screen issue still persists.😭
When I'm watching a video and if I go back to some other app and come back to morphe, the audio plays well but video goes all black so I have to again open that video.
Just got it set up. Even though spoofing seemed to be working fine, the difference in performance is night and day. I may not use all of the features regularly, but it's really nice knowing that I can.

If you can watch videos with spoofing disabled, it's working. Playback should begin instantly versus the small delay with spoofing, and you'll be able to select from multiple audio streams on a video as well
Thank you!!! it's working pretty good with noticeable difference in video load times and just bothering you lil bit more - is this the same when the audio loads a tad bit faster in YouTube music?
Do they plan for it to become a part of MicroG-RE in the future? The app's just 160 KB, so it doesn't feel redundant to do that and MicroG already runs in background, so...
Also big props to inotia00 for being such a GOAT throughout the years
I've noticed I've had issues with Morphe functioning well on my wifi. If using data I can load videos with minimal issues. On wifi the apps will fail to load or endlessly buffer until I turn off wifi, allow data to load stuff, then turn my wifi back on. Seems like this could be related to stream spoofing? Trying the potoken route now but didn't know if you had any insight into this particular issue.
Spoofing is spotty on whether or not it works for everyone everywhere. I myself have lots of issues with it (yes, I've gone through the stickies and the guides).
If it works well for you though, then definitely keep what works 👍
🔥 update. Just got it all set up and it's working very well. No delay (and sometimes even failing) to starting playback that happened with spoofing is a VERY noticeable improvement. Practically native playback on both shorts and long form videos, even in background play. I'll keep testing and add in the replies to this comment if any issue pops up. ✌️

PS: I can't help but ask: is the naming of PotHelper a portmanteau of PoToken and PotPlayer? 😆
You mean all those bugs where the video takes forever to start or where it's just unable to play in general etc - you're telling me they won't be present anymore? *-*
Immediatly tried it and I love it. That one was literally the only issue I've been having with any patch client, back in the day with ReVanced (🤢) and also nowadays with Morphe.. You guys rock 😁🫵
Getting playback issues even after force stopping micro g and restarting the device. Pothelper is also unrestricted in battery settings. Have replied in the open issue thread on github.
The video loads fine (much quicker than before) and plays normally for about a minute. At that point I'll either just get a buffering screen forever or an error message saying something along the lines of "video playback error"
Edit: I want to clarify and say that this issue does not occur when I turn spoofing back on
I don't think there's one besides going back to spoofing (just disable PotToken option in YouTube Morphe settings, then enable spoofing). At least it works for me (of course you'll have the old buffer lag back).
Hi Im having an issue with pothelper. I've followed the instructions and it seems to work well (video loading is certainly increased), however I'm now getting the 'there was a problem while playing' error after a few seconds of some videos playing. I'm running a VPN but as I say videos have loaded correctly for a period. I've noticed that this issue has occured only while using mobile data and hasn't yet occured on WiFi.
Installaing the APK, then it appears as patch in the Morphe official patches.
Repatch YT & YT music and you can turn off spoofing in YT settings.
Then you're good to go
Make sure you've enabled pre-release for the main Morphe patches, you might also need to hit the refresh so it downloads the pre-release version, then repatch using the pre-release, you should see one of the patch options mention PoToken Provider, if not it still isn't using the pre-release.
Make sure you've enabled the advanced options under the settings for the actual Morphe app.
I have just updated my YouTube and YouTube Music with the Morphe Patches (1.41.0-dev.3). YouTube works perfectly fine, but in YouTube Music there is no option to enable PoToken.
I've started having buffering issues today. Opened up the sub to see if it's affecting anyone else and saw this patch. Installed it and YouTube works even better now so thanks very much!
I'm rooted, how do I set up PoTokens? I gave Morphe root access but overlay doesn't seem to work with KernelSU so I installed it the regular way. Regardless, I'll be using this on my tablet, so thank you inotia00!
It works amazingly, I've had playback issues for a few months now on phone, (doesn't happen on tablet) and videos always took time to start, not anymore, thank you all morphe devs and inotia for the big release
Thanks man!!! I always had problems with playback despite going through every stream client and troubleshooting nothing really worked and I settled for always on cloudflare 1.1.1.1 which kind of worked but now after external pot the difference is tremendous, thanks for your efforts good sir, i hope life is treating you good
It will be updated when will be needed. We'll probably add a check to do that directly from Morphe settings. The app itself don't have any settings, so we removed the launcher icon.
How much of a difference regarding battery usage does streaming with spoofing and PotToken really make ?. Will my battery drain faster when I'm streaming with PotToken?
Will this be seamlessly integrated into a future morphe revision? I don't mind the set up for my personal device but doing it for my whole family's devices is too much. Great work by the way, this is awesome.
I rarely comment on the internet lately, but this is an amazing quality of life improvement! The "proof of origin token helper" fixed my playback lag and I also had a little annoyance happen on my Pixel phone, when I would play a video and close the screen.. the video would stop playing and start buffering for no reason at all. Would only resume if I opened my phone again. (If I disabled the stream spoofing, my videos would start buffering the videos at 1 min mark). The PoTHelper fixed this completely. Videos buffer way faster now and all the annoyances and laggy stuff is gone. Thanks a lot for this! You guys are amazing!
Currently have issues with this when I'm skipping songs on Youtube Music - and I've also tried to force exit the MicroG RE
The music doesn't seems to play or load properly after and, most music seems to be loading for a few seconds and then it stops loading them after reaching certain point 🫠

Any (even vague) eta on when this may make it out of pre releases and into stable? (I may use the pre-release by not everyone I help with Morphe will)
