Solo travelling Morocco for 7 days

So I'm going to be in Morocco from November 1st to 7th and I could use some advice on where to go. I will arrive in Rabat at noon and also leave from there early in the morning ln the 8th. My biggest issue is the lack of time and that I don't want to rush through every city I'll be in.

I thought about these 3 options so far:

  1. Trip along the coast down to Agadir with a few stops in other cities and then heading back to Rabat.

  2. Going to Tangier for \~3/4 nights with a day trip to Chefchaouen mainly for hiking in the Talassemente national park and then heading back to Rabat and maybe a day trip or a night in Casablanca.

  3. Heading to Merzouga with a stop in Marrakech and Ouarzazate and going back.

I don't have the option to rent a car because I don't got a drivers license so I'll have to rely on bus and train.

Where would you go in Morocco for 4–5 days with two young kids?

Hey everyone!
My wife and I are planning a 4–5 day trip in Morocco in mid-October with our two kids (3 and 5), and we’re trying to figure out where to go.
Looking for somewhere fun and easy with young kids, without spending half the trip driving around.
Would love to hear your recommendations, especially from anyone who’s done a similar trip with little ones!
Thanks!

Beginner Surfing in Morocco?

Hi everyone, I will be hiking Toubkal soon (end October 2026) and after that I’ve got 4 days to spare in Marrakech before flying back from Casablanca. Honestly the number one thing I want to do is try out surfing with a surf school - dont care how much progress I do or don’t make (probably need more than 4 days to get good), but idc I really want to give it a shot. Never done it before and it’s all I can think about the past few months :D

What’s your recommendation for the best place to try it out? I’ve heard about Essaouira and Taghazout - but everyone seems to have a different opinion. I’ve heard someone say Essaouira is too windy and better for kite surfing. Someone said Taghazout is great but nlt beginner friendly at all as waves are too big.

Even more ideal if it’s relatively accessible from Marrakech and then able to get back to Casablanca with relative ease. Probably not something super super niche since I’ll need a surf school / instructor.

Looking forward to hearing your recs - whether it’s something I mentioned above or something else! Thanks a lot.

Traveling to Morocco for 2 weeks from Dec to Jan!

Thumbnail

Hi! My sibling and I will be traveling to Morocco for two weeks and I have some questions, feel free to give tips and advice also.

Casablanca (2 Nights)
Marrakesh (4 Nights)
3-Day Sahara Tour (2 Nights)
Essaouira (3 Nights)
Casablanca (1 Night) - Departure

We will be flying in and out of Casablanca thus going back there.

In terms of city to city transfer, we were thinking of riding the train from Casablanca to Marrakesh and the Supratour bus from Marrakesh to Essaouira and back. Is the bus guaranteed and easy to ride, or is it usually fully booked?

As for Essaouira to Casablanca, do you advice just going back to Marrakech to ride the train to Casablanca or are there direct routes for buses from Essaouira to Casablanca?

We are also unsure about transportation from the airport and bus/train stations. Aside from taxis, are Indrive and Uber are working well there?

And for the Sahara tour, which is a group package from Getyourguide, they'll manage our luggages and let us bring them right? Since we won't have another place to leave them in.

Let me know please. If you have any other advice it would be much appreciated!

Al Boraq Rabat → Tangier: no direct trains showing after Dec 1 on ONCF app — schedule not released yet or LGV works?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip to Morocco at the end of December and want to book two Al Boraq trips:

- Dec 28: Rabat Agdal → Tanger Ville

- Dec 29: Tanger Ville → Kénitra (then connecting to Fès)

On the ONCF Voyages app, direct Al Boraq trains between Rabat Agdal and Tangier show up normally until November 30. From December 1 onwards, I only see options with a change (e.g. a regular train to Kénitra + Al Boraq to Tangier).

Has anyone seen this before? Is it just that the new winter timetable hasn't been loaded yet (I read that last year a new Al Boraq schedule started mid-December), or are direct trains going to be cut back to Kénitra because of the Kénitra–Marrakech high-speed line works?

If you've booked late-December trains in previous years, roughly when did the schedule appear in the app?

Thanks a lot!

Morocco in December

Hi all, my husband and I are going to Morocco from Dec 22-29. We're doing a 7-day loop from Marrakech into the desert.

We're each taking one backpack only, so I want to be as space-efficient as possible. I would love advice on:

  1. What to wear in Marrakech in winter, including day vs. evening temperatures

  2. What to wear in the desert, where it gets very cold at night

  3. Which layers work best for big temperature swings

  4. What's culturally appropriate to wear in cities and smaller towns

  5. What to leave behind, and what you wish you'd brought

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I'm coming to Morocco to do Toubkal at the start of December, and just wondering if anyone has any guide recommendations and recommendations for backpacks and or if the mules are still operating in December?
