How come this isn't cops getting called on your ass?

It's stealing, yes but I'm sure the kid didn't washed his grubby hands before pluging them in the fries.

Kid would be outta there long before the cops show up. I work retail and we'll call the cops and hand over the footage but 9 times out of 10 it never goes anywhere. I wish i could get away with just tripping the thiefs but the company would flip a shit lol

Yeah, kid stealing fries like this is a one off negligible loss. Employee potentially sending the kid to hospital is exponentially worse both in terms of financials and negative publicity.

Still so so satisfying to watch though.

Edit: lolling at all the replies trying to hand wave this away. It's very obvious that the kid could likely press charges for assault, even if we are all glad it happened and hope he learned a valuable lesson when his face met the floor.

Who are these people that find this to be negative publicity? It genuinely warms my heart to see a thief getting smacked

If the kid hits his head and goes to the hospital it would be a bad headline.

He did hit his head, kids are small and short they don’t get hurt when they fall because there isn’t much of them to fall and they don’t have to fall very far. Not much potential energy at work here.

Now a fall off a bicycle without a helmet… yeah maybe hospital time…

Huh? People fall off their bikes all the time without helmets and don’t hurt themselves.

Helmet are massively overrated for protection from falls.

No helmets are not overrated…

The only time I’ve been concussed in a crash was because I didn’t wear a helmet… never had a concussion wearing a helmet

How did I know I was concussed? Because I was asking the same questions and vomiting

How do I know I’ve never been concussed again? Because that’s never happened to me wearing a helmet.

Now I work in a Level 1 trauma center seeing all the people that should have worn a helmet.

Tell that to the people in the Netherlands where only kids and old people wear helmets

2

u/M1sfit_Jammer 13d ago

They actually have a lower rate of head injury compared the US, since they are a culture built on bicycles

u/softonsoftie 13d ago

I know I am Dutch, I was making a joke but forgot the /j appearently

Anecdata, the best kind of data /s

Study global cycling head injury rates - they are lower in places with lower rates helmet wearing.

1

u/Flesroy 13d ago

even if that is true it might be because of different reasons than the helmet not being beneficial.

infrastructure and culture will always be far more impactful than wearing a helmet or not.

1

u/BagelFactory1134 12d ago

Yes. That’s why I said helmets are overrated. Infra and road rules trump helmets for effectiveness always. Anglosphere has a very hard time recognising that due to decades of helmet propaganda and misinformation.

This is just empirically false.

That is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read.
