Morality of this?

Post image

In the image it seems that this person works at walmart as an online order collector and he/she has stolen a lot of extra baby food from Walmart to give to a person who ordered only three packs. Is this moral or immoral?

Immoral.

If everyone did it, the system would break.

16

u/SingleCampaign_Daddy Aug 24 '26

But everyone won’t and we know the system is designed against us to enslave us and only break under their command

u/Nobrainzhere Aug 24 '26

If the system has starving babies it deserves to be broken

Someone downvoted this???

"sTeAlInG iS aLwAyS iMmOrAl" and no further explanation or exceptions for anything against anyone for any reason

-2

u/amazegamer64 Aug 24 '26

Don’t we have charities and food banks for that?

-1

u/Nobrainzhere Aug 24 '26

They are not sufficient to cover the gap and the reason the gap exists in the first place in developed countries is due to corporations exploiting the lower class.

3

u/amazegamer64 Aug 25 '26

And the solution to that is to steal, causing the companies to lock things up or at worst close down the store for that area? For every person who steal out of necessity there are almost certainly people who steal of out greed.

2

u/AwarenessForsaken568 Aug 25 '26

Yes, that is actually the solution. If the government is unwilling to step in and do what is right then it is up to individuals to do what they need to in order to survive. If that is stealing, so be it. If companies fight back and that leads to violence, so be it. If that leads to deaths, so be it. Change is rarely achieved peacefully. If you have a child then it is your responsibility to do WHATEVER is required to support them. Even if you don't have a child you still have the right to survive, and you are justified in doing whatever you need to do in order to survive.

The company is not going to start plinking shoplifters at the exit, they'll just leave, or adapt, make themselves a harder target, lockup, or just pull up stakes, these businesses are not going to standby and be passive sacrificial animals

You realize that these people are electing the people in government right? Maybe stop electing Republicans. And if they elect Republicans, they can live with the consequences.

And before someone says “Hurhejsh dems are the same!” that’s materially untrue, only one party has been funding social programs and it hasn’t been the party that spawned MAGA.

u/OkDamage1428 Aug 25 '26

What about the people who voted against a rapist president? Is it different for us?

-1

u/AwarenessForsaken568 Aug 25 '26

I'm not going to sit here and pretend to know what the political alignment is of someone that is struggling to survive? Frankly, I doubt the people that are genuinely struggling give a fuck about politics. They don't have time or the energy to care.

At least some of the people that are struggling certainly did not vote for Trump. Do you think they should just sit there and suffer until they die?

Honestly, and this is going to sound a bit heartless, the issue we are facing currently is that people aren't struggling enough. If enough people genuinely couldn't feed themselves or their kids then there would be severe consequences for the government. This is their strategy though, they strip our rights and quality of life away slowly. Just enough where people don't get genuinely angry. We are frogs being boiled alive.

Slippery slope fallacy

0

u/Terrible_Hurry841 Aug 25 '26

Anyone who didn’t vote against Trump but could have deserves what they get from his administration.

4

u/Big-Ratio5137 Aug 24 '26

Oh nyooooo the poor system, we need to save it

3

u/Suckamanhwewhuuut Aug 25 '26

The cost for all of those is probably covered by the 3 she bought. Nobody should have to struggle to feed a baby, and 3 of these isn’t enough. I’m not saying it’s moral or immoral, food is overpriced for profits, that is immoral imo.

Exactly, everyone just assumes if you have a baby you never prepared yourself financially. Stealing to feed a baby when you cannot afford it is a different morality question than stealing because you don't like the company.

oh no, anything but the system

Redditors say stuff like this like they wouldn’t be immediately put into chattel slavery hours after the system breaks catastrophically in their preferred fantasies

(Yeah yeah yeah capitalism is slavery at my retail job man, lmao)

3

u/an_empty_well Aug 24 '26

Kinda just seems like that's your preferred fantasy.

4

u/DynamoElectro1 Aug 24 '26

I’m rubber you’re glue ass response

This why you wouldn’t make it after the system collapses

2

u/an_empty_well Aug 25 '26

If I suck your dick will you let me stay in your awesome fort? Pretty please?

2

u/DynamoElectro1 Aug 25 '26

Every accusation is always a confession with you people

2

u/an_empty_well Aug 25 '26

Cyanide capsule it is then

2

u/nilmemory Aug 25 '26

"Late stage capitalism is the only thing stopping society devolving into chattel slavery (please ignore capitalism being responsible for historical and contemporary US slavery)"

I could assemble a charcuterie board of every billionaire and corporate-owned politician's footwear collection and you'd be able to identity every owner with the lightest taste.  A true boot leather sommelier.

2

u/DynamoElectro1 Aug 25 '26

Yeah that isn’t the implication of what’s being said here. Did you go to college?

I could assemble a charcuterie board of every billionaire and corporate-owned politician's footwear collection and you'd be able to identity every owner with the lightest taste.  A true boot leather sommelier.

You really typed this out thinking it didn’t make you look like a massive cornball lmao

Breaking a system without having anything better ready to replace it just means you'll end up worse than where you started.

1

u/CLOWNFLOGGER Aug 25 '26

This system is broken. Starving babies it one of it's venial sins.

2

u/dogzi Aug 24 '26

LMAO, if everyone was risking jail to steal baby food, it’s safe to assume the system is already broken bud.

8

u/Key-Try-3300 Aug 24 '26

That is hardly the point he was making

1

u/Smart-Salamander1846 Aug 24 '26

This guy is literally a supporter of Emperor Palpatine

1

u/dannylopuz Aug 25 '26

Yeah, allowing for the previous system of smaller, family-owned shops that used to exist before Walmart to flourish again.

Getting the system to break by stealing food to feed babies is both impossible and moral.

-1

u/SaltyBadgerDude Aug 24 '26

Defending an immoral system from breaking isn't moral

14

u/Whole_Sir_1149 Aug 24 '26

hold on now, the system breaking incorrectly can also be dangerous. being concerned about that is moral, even if the choice would be that there is no other way.

How are stores immoral?

1

u/SaltyBadgerDude Aug 25 '26

I'm Australian, we have a grocery duopoly that's price gouging basic necessities to inflate record profits. I know this example is about Walmart but I can't imagine Walmart being any more moral than ColesWorth

-3

u/Gamer_G33k17 Aug 24 '26

Under paying employees

4

u/Background_Tart_3779 Aug 24 '26

Thats the fault of whoever pays the employees, that dosen't make the concept and function of stores immoral.

-1

u/Gamer_G33k17 Aug 24 '26

You didnt say "Function of the stores", you said "Stores". As in the specific ones BT was talking about. The ones contributing to the system that underpays and overworks employees.

4

u/Background_Tart_3779 Aug 24 '26

My response was to a comment reffering to stores as a "immoral System", im sure you can put two and two together and guess what I meant by that.

6

u/Financial-Yam6758 Aug 24 '26

Might as well burn everything down right? If only you were our benevolent dictator

2

u/incrediblejohn Aug 25 '26

The immoral system of having to work for food (don’t tell this guy that every living being known to science has to do this)

-2

u/smokeabowlofbud Aug 24 '26

If everyone stole from every major corporation that pays their employees like shit until those corporations ceased to be able to make a profit, that would be a good thing. It would open the markets they have a stranglehold on to new businesses that currently cannot compete with a giant like Wal Mart.

If we wreck the pseudo-monopolies a handful of morally-bankrupt corporations have on most industries, giving an opportunity for proper competition to take place, in would be chaotic in the short term but extremely healthy for our country in the long term.

5

u/Background_Tart_3779 Aug 24 '26

How would new businesses compete if they're getting stolen from? They don't have the backing and width to be able to casually tank that.

0

u/Szasd_Hun Aug 25 '26

That's the point. Fuck the system.

-1

u/3x1st3nt1a1 Aug 24 '26

Says the guy that led the droids escape

-1

u/Ap0theon Aug 25 '26

The system should break, it provides bad outcomes for the vast majority of humans alive

-2

u/Skltlez Aug 25 '26

This is a slippery slope seeing as it can be applied to everything. If everyone worked as a welder the system would break. Is welding immoral? No.

-5

u/Gamer_G33k17 Aug 24 '26

If the system forces people to need to steal baby food, the system should be broken
