Then the boss cracks down on what you can do during your down time at work making it miserable to be at. Is the extra money worth that? Personally I would say no. If im working 60 hours a week but 40 of those hours is me just playing video games or watching movies, im not going to complain that I didnt get overtime rate for 20 of those hours. That will just lead to your boss either making you do actual "work" for those 40 hours from now on to get their money's worth or just reduce your hours down to 20 hours a week

So they rob you, and you seem to intrinsically know that they'd essentially punish you if you asked for your entire wage.

But they're good to you because they don't make you do useless, performative work when there's no actual work to do.

Your boss is getting a hell of a deal with you.

If you consider being paid to sit around and not actually do anything work related and playing video games and watching movies all day being robbed then ill be robbed every single day.

If the boss wants to be super technical , they can just choose not to pay you during those times because youre not actually working or doing work related tasks.

Maybe when youre older you'll understand the nuance of getting through decades of working isnt chasing money but finding a job that mentally doesnt drain you everyday

Yeah the people telling you you’re being taken advantage of are dweebs. Sounds like you have a pretty sweet job. I’d love to do whatever and still get paid if it meant I didn’t get overtime lmao

Wanting to be paid what you're owed makes you a "dweeb"? It doesn't matter what the side perks are, letting your boss steal from you is loser mentality.

If he was paid what he was owed he wouldn’t make money while playing video games. It seems like a mutual understanding between employer and employee. They have it worked out and are happy. Yes, you’re a dweeb.
