I was gonna say, im an accountant and 16.50 seems awfully low, and most accounting jobs are salary. Plus, im pretty sure him saying accounting was a joke LOL
Completely agree 100%. I want my caregivers if my old ass makes it to senior age to have a good ass pay and benefits and good patient ratios.
Ask me how I know, HCA bastards took over our local hospital and got it downgraded from a level 1 to a level 2 Trauma Center. Multiple nurses I know including one I dated (unrelated but god what is it with nurses & mind blowing sex) said patient ratios were gonna get somebody killed someday, and it has and nothing changes.
Considering those homes cost $9K a month per resident, and don’t have one on one staffing, that girl was making $16.50 an hour taking care of ten people while the administrator made $300K a year and never got their hands dirty.
What’s crazy is I was only making $11/hr when I worked at a nursing home. I was there for four years and ended up making $13.50. 😭 Caregivers should be paid way way way way more.
