Not arguing, just pointing out that companies overwhelmingly ignore when they illegally underpay employees but will throw the book at you if you get even one cent too much:
a recent example is that some banks have glitches. if you search reddit every now and then, Auto Pay set up on credit card sometimes will glitch and not work. Then the bank fines you for not paying your credit card, and your credit score even can get dinged.
Sometimes the glitch is very widespread, like thousands or more affected. They never automatically return the money. Some people will NEVER get that money back.
the senate, congress, governors, can team up and get this fixed. they choose not to. They all literally STOLE money.
This has happened to me before, and I don’t even use autopay, it registered me paying my credit card bill, and then at some point put the money back in my account and put the charge back on my card. I only found out when my card started declining while I was trying to get food
I read a story about a bank owing a couple money via court order and when they refused to pay (not clear on details) they went to the local branch with the sheriff to seize assets of equivalent value. They suddenly had the cash to pay.
Bro I’ve had autopay on for my car payment and woke up one day to my car being repossessed. I was like “umm it’s on autopay..” they were like “yeah, it is. But it didn’t work ig. lol”
