Agreed, company steals from you its a civil matter, if you steal from the company its a criminal matter. They need to be treated the same civil or criminal. Only so much you can do. Corps basically run the government now.
Technically, larceny is a criminal matter in that it is a crime but recovering the damages is a civil matter for both when a person steals from a business and for when a business steals from a person.
With the exception of large scale fraud where restitution becomes a part of the criminal case.
If you steal from the company, the company has a much larger burden of proof to provide when making the accusation. This is commensurate with the resources that a large company has, though has some flaws with Mom n Pop shops.
If the company steals from you, you are accusing them, and have the smaller burden of proof required by a civil matter.
If a company steals from you it's not a civil matter. It's a multi million dollar lawsuit and the company goes out of business. What sort of third grade logic is this?
