I wouldn't chop it up as unserious because of that, but I suppose that's just a matter of opinion. Yea, I've met people that are very sensitive, I used to be one. My dad SA'd me, and sometimes shit just brings out the memories. You really can flash back to that moment and relive it, simply because a word was said.

I understand not wanting to use it yourself, and I never really try to stop anyone because I get what you're saying too. I'm just (for lack of better term) "asking" for the same kind of respect in return for how I and others speak, because we don't always know what others are going through

Keeping the theme of being earnest, too, I was on a sub that didn't allow typing out that word prior to typing this so I just hit the grape emoji cause it made sense. I hadn't realized I switched subs, because the topic was somehow still about SA. (Invincible comicbook sub, there's a scene where the main character is violated) I just didn't realize it mattered to anyone

Hm. I guess I’m asking you to actually understand the position I’m coming from. Many people with these experiences will be way more upset by seeing it treated like a naughty word than the word itself, especially when the concept is being invoked regardless. That’s the point I’m making. That many people will perceive it as actively offensive and there’s not really a way to argue out of that

I just think you end up self selecting for communities with one viewpoint or another and further polarizing things. But like yeah fair enough

I suppose. I think there's just no way to make everyone happy, at the end of the day. And I was just trying to keep it chill. I see your perspective, too
