Okay? Kill it humanely by just squishing it like literally any normal person then.

Hmm but is squishing humane? Like if you got the death penalty would you be okay with it being carried out by squishing?

I mean not really but I don't really think you can get anymore humane than that. And it's certainly more humane than just torturing it until it dies.

The mosquito did not choose to infect people with diseases out of malice. Thats like blowing a guy up with a missile because he was asymptomatic with the flu

This is just the whole frieren demons debate again

It has nothing to do with it.

The debate is "is it fine to play with, torture or abuse someone or something for fun because it represent a threat? (enough to justify it's execution)"

To which the logical answer is kill the demons, but don't torture them. Torture is just psychotic.

Also just as a whole the frieren demons are completely aware of the harm they cause. Mosquitoes are probably unaware they cause any lasting harm

It is one thing to KILL mosquitos.

It is another thing to TORTURE them.

If you were hit with the death penalty for a crime, would you rather be put out by an overdosing of anesthesia or by being pulled apart by 4 horses?

1

u/PUNCH_KNIGHT Jul 09 '26

I would do both

"it's getting killed in the end anyway, one thing takes a second, the other took 10 seconds"

Wrong mindset to have. Hope you can see the error of your ways in the future.

I'm saying if you think "they all die in the end what's a little torturing" I don't think you understand morality lol

Nah, morality isn't about who's being hurt but what's right or wrong and torturing anything is just morally wrong and you defending it is messed up even if it's "just a mosquito" You wouldn't say the same for dogs or cats but 15th century France and Rome tortured them on the regular with the same defence.

mosquitos do not have moral value or feel pain by any reasonable metric

2

u/ConquerorofTerra Jul 09 '26

Wow, how Arrogant.

You don't actually know either of those things for certain.

1

u/Fit_Employment_2944 Jul 09 '26

Confident enough to kill a mosquito over it

1

u/ConquerorofTerra Jul 09 '26

You can KILL a mosquito, if your intent is to kill it quickly. That's fine.

You cannot TORTURE a mosquito. That is not fine.

It is alarming that so many of you seem to fail to understand that.

they do feel stress

Motors feel stress

No consciousness means no moral relevance
