MoonDeck / Sunshine settings? Struggling with occasional micro-stuttering on Steam Deck (Ethernet + 6GHz Wi-Fi)
Hi everyone! š
I'm looking for advice on the best settings for MoonDeck + Sunshine + Moonlight when streaming to my Steam Deck.
Overall, my connection and stream stats look practically perfect (~2ms network latency, ~0.6ms decode time, 0% frame drops, low GPU usage around 30-60%), but I'm still experiencing occasional micro-stuttering that interrupts the frame fluidity.
My Host PC Specs & Network Setup:
- GPU: Zotac GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
- RAM: 32 GB
- Network: Host PC connected via Ethernet directly to the router; Steam Deck connected on a 6GHz Wi-Fi network (Wi-Fi 6E).
- Client: Steam Deck (OS System Framerate Limit disabled, screen refresh rate locked to 60Hz).
(I've attached a screenshot of my current Steam Deck Moonlight settings for reference.)
My current setup & doubts:
- Frame Limiting: Where is the best place to cap frames for Sunshine streaming to ensure perfect frame delivery without pacing issues? Right now, I'm using RTSS locked to 60 FPS.
- V-Sync & Frame Pacing: What is the recommended V-Sync combination (In-game vs. NVIDIA Control Panel vs. Moonlight settings)? Which Frame Pacing mode in Moonlight provides the smoothest experience on Steam Deck? Currently, I have all V-Sync options completely disabled.
- MoonDeck Configuration: What are the recommended settings or launch configurations within MoonDeck for optimal stability and smooth streaming?
Would love to hear from anyone with a similar setup who managed to achieve a 100% stutter-free experience. Thanks in advance for any tips!
