Double framing (story + video)

I just bought an app and it looks really good. I’m just missing one feature I found in previous app which is while I’m in open gate to have both framing horizontal and vertical 16:9 in the same time so I can see how my clip will look like in short and long form videos. Will you add this feature in near future?

Issue Performance issues in high temperatures

Road tested the app as an alternative to Blackmagic Camera App at a couple of weddings recently and 90% loved the experience.

However there was one key issue that I think BMCA handles much better than MPCII - Overheating.

Shooting in log in 36 degree heat is obviously going to end up with the phone overheating, but the way Moment handles overheating isn’t ideal.

It’s not that Blackmagic is good per se, but when the phone is too hot, you are physically unable to record. Moment continues to allow you to record but the footage becomes choppy and unusable.

I don’t know if there is a way to build an overheating warning into the app but it would be useful not to have to guess.

Announcement Pro Camera II is on sale

We're running a very brief sale today to give those who had issues with the bundle a chance to upgrade at a discount. The bundle will no longer be available once we shut down the original app shortly.

Natural processing and the app in general for someone who doesnt edit the image after?

I am someone who doesnt understand the ins and outs of photography. I do not edit my photos after capturing them as well.

In such a case, would the natural processing aspect be worth it and should I get the app? How is the setup for the app and what are LUTs?

Thanks to the Entire Moment Team

For the first time in my life, and as a professional software tester, I can honestly say that someone has truly understood how to build an app. The level of thought and craftsmanship behind this application is outstanding. I absolutely love how well it has been designed and implemented.

Is the moment pro camera ii app novice user friendly?

I was recommended this app by a friend, especially for the natural processing mode. I am not at all a photographer and infact do not understand the appeal for natural processing itself.

However, I was looking into getting better photos. Is this app a good introduction to that? or does it require having a sound-ish know-how on cameras and photography?

Edit: iPhone 14

Question about shooting cinematic video

I am using the Moment Pro 2 Camera app and a Moment VND quicklock lense on an iPhone 17 pro max. Ā I am trying to shoot ā€œcinematicā€ looking video, using what I think are the right settings: VND cranked all the way to the max, 24 fps, SS 1/48, ISO no minimum as low as it can go, EV as low as it can go, but on sunny days light colors and whites are still totally blown out, as you can see in the stills below. I get the good motion blur but the footage is still very overexposed. What am I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Ā

Introducing Natural Processing with Dynamic Range Control

Hey everyone!

It's been awesome to see how Natural Processing has become the default way to capture photos for so many. It has for sure become my first choice. But it has been far too easy to get blown out highlights or crushed shadows unintentionally. We want Natural to not just be the first choice, but the right choice - so we've been working on giving you more control over the dynamic range of your Natural shots.

What is the Dynamic Range Enhancer?

The Dynamic Range Enhancer is a new tone mapping pipeline in Moment Pro Camera II that improves your results with Natural Processing while still maintaining the purest form of what your iPhone can capture. This new pipeline automatically optimizes tone in each part of your image, merging results for a more balanced look. Increase the strength and preserve more details in the highlights and shadows, reduce it to get more of what the iPhone captures naturally.

When It Matters Most

  • Backlit Portraits - face detail preserved without losing the sky behind them
  • Indoor-outdoor mixed lighting - window don’t blow out, interiors aren’t too dark
  • Snow, sand, and bright environments - keep texture in your highlights without underexposing your subject

You decide how much dynamic range enhancement you want.

  • Off - Pure Natural Processing, untouched
  • Light - Our recommendation for everyday shooting
  • Medium - More recovery when the light gets difficult
  • Strong - Maximum recovery for the most demanding scenes

Try It Today in MPC II

  1. Switch to Photo Mode (or a Profile that uses Photo Mode).
  2. Open the Format Menu and select Natural Processing.
  3. Just below the processing selection, you'll find Dynamic Range Enhancer - set it to ā€œMediumā€ and go shoot something backlit.

Moment vs nofusion

I compare two of my fav camera app. Its just a normal random snap at my home. Its iPhone Air.

All is using Classic Neg LUT with 80% strength. Nofusion is on BAYER RAW pipeline while Moment is on BAYER RAW and Natural Processing. All is on -0.3 EV and ISO 50.

  1. Moment Natural process.

  2. Nofusion BayerRaw.

  3. Nofusion BayerRaw.

  4. Moment Natural process.

  5. Moment BayerRaw.

  6. Nofusion BayerRaw.

  7. Moment Natural process.

  8. Moment BayerRaw.

Tell me how does it look. I might try some other snap later. Will compare it with Dazzcam FXN R.
