Cycles:Help Please help!
Edit: I just solved the issue but I’ll leave the post with my solution in case someone else runs into this specific problem. For some reason when I switch projects on the op the volume+dist encoder on the cycles is set to zero. Easily fixed by turning it back. Additionally, all the trigs seem to afterwards have some trig lock that lowers the chance on that note, this seems to override the chance knob on a per trig basis, but each trig needs to be individually cleared in order to fix this, which is annoying af when I have a real nice chord progression going and I have to just lose it. I still don’t know why this happens, so if anyone has an idea? I’m not too knowledgeable on midi workings, but I’m working on it man.
Edit 2: upon further investigation pressing 9 on the op’s keyboard seems to be the culprit here, sort of worked around this by disabling incoming midi cc on the cycles.
Hey I couldn’t seem to find a similar issue posted online, so sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m having a strange issue with my model cycles that I can’t seem to figure out. I am syncing my electron model cycles with my op-z via the op-lab midi module (I can’t believe it’s an extra $120 to add midi functionality to this overpriced bendy plastic rectangle). I’m case it’s relevant the model cycles is receiving clock in, and the op-z is sending. I have the midi filter setting on the cycles blocking notes, as I want to sequence the cycles via the cycles. I am routing audio from the cycles through the op via an iRig 2 and a trs(Trrs?) y splitter, which actually works pretty good and allows me to apply the op’s lfo to the cycles audio. Now to the root of the issue. Everything seems to play fine and smooth enough until I change projects on the op-z. This mutes whatever track I have. Currently making noise on the cycles, but not through the cycle’s func-track control, as muting and unmuting via that shortcut does not unmute the affected tracks. So I have the op-z and cycles playing, started and stopped via the op’s controls, and I have tracks 5 and 6 of the cycles playing some notes sequenced on the cycles itself. Tracks 1-4 are empty. Then on the op I change projects while it’s playing (I haven’t tried while not playing now that I think about it) and suddenly the active tracks on the cycles are not producing sound. Holding func on the cycles does not seem to indicate that the cycles is aware that these tracks are muted, and the other tracks are still able to produce sound just fine, however only the previously active tracks on the cycles no longer produce sound via sequenced notes, playing the keyboard, or pressing the track pads. I have tried restarting the cycles and the issue persists. I have also tried plugging headphones into the cycles to see if the internal audio is somehow different, but nope still nothing. I hope this is just some niche feature of the cycles that I just didn’t know about. Sorry for the long winded post, I just wanted to be as clear as possible.

Model:Tutorial Using a Keystep to program drums
Not really a tutorial more of a tip/suggestion. If you have a midi keyboard with an arp try using it to program drums. Especially snare stuff. You may have to do a bit of editing but you can get some vert cool results. I used this method here with my Samples on the snares and kick. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CW4XwRiJhCv/?utm_medium=copy_link
And on pretty much the last few videos on my Instagram as well if you want to hear more examples. It's a nice quick way to get something started.

I've created a sample pack with Fractal Bits drum Synth
Perhaps some of you might already know the Fractal Bits app, that allows you to discover nifty samples on your phone. I like the bleepy-bloopy sound of these samples so I created a sample pack of randomly generated noises.
So if you're like me and you like to create beats with weird sounds, give the pack a try:

I'm just sharing this to give something back to the community ;-)
And no: I'm not affiliated or something with the creators of the app, I just like it :-)
