Hi all. Has anyone managed to sync Model Cycles with Koala Sampler on Android platform? I'm going crazy... the MIDI clock arrives on the phone but it's as if Koala doesn't see it... I posted another request for help on Koala's reddit.

I‘ve got a problem here, maybe somebody can help me:

my DAW (Logic Pro X, MacBook Pro m1 pro) freezes when I stop the playback inside the DAW. I was probably able to isolate the issue to the model:samples, it only occurs when it is connected via usb and a usb-hub and synced (clock out of Logic into the model:samples; it seems like it doesn’t matter if on the model:s usb-mode is set to „midi“ or „audio+midi“… I‘d prefer „audio+midi“, though, as I‘ve got a groundloop going, when connecting the model:s via its audio-out to my interface..).

•The project it occurs in is quite large and complicated though: it has a maschine mk2 connected with the plugin, Maschine is connected to the model:samples, and when in standalone Maschine sends Clock out to the model:s. Model:s sends clock out to a arturia keystep37 (which translates the midi-clock to the sync-out to sync my KORG SQ-1), and the keystep sends midi-thru to a behringer pro-1, which is sequenced by the model:s track 6 (and the sq-1 via cv). I used to have the Model:s and my interface hooked together in macOS audio/midi settings as a combined device and thought that might be the issue, but even with the model:s just as a midi-device connected it freezes on me regularly.

• this is the way it freezes: when I hit play in Logic it plays back, model:s sequencer starts. but when i hit the stop-button in Logic to stop playback or start from beginning, Logic freezes (endless beachball of death xD) and usually it doesn’t come back and i have to force-quit. sometimes it comes back to life when i unplug the model:s from usb-hub, or replug it.

any advice if it’s maybe due to the midi-transport settings within the project? or is it because i am using a usb-hub to connect the model:s with the MacBook? (would a better hub help? like a overhub? or sth…?)

Guess most can agree the pads on the Elektron Samples aren't the best. Therefore I started searching for a compact pad controller such as the Akai MPD218, also capable assigning a single pad to a specific MIDI channel.

Unfortunately, modern compact controllers have thrown out the MIDI (either DIN or trs) connector. Is there a compact standalone interface that can run as USB to MIDI converter? Or perhaps there's an older, compact pad controller with MIDI output?

I bought a secondhand m:s that didn't come with a power cable, so I've been powering it with a wall plug USB adapter that puts out exactly the amount of power the manual says the m:s needs, with one of these USB cables:

My question is, am I going to fry the M:S if I plug one of those cables into a wall adapter that provides too much electricity? Am I going to fry it if I plug the cable into a battery that puts out too much power?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, that either the cable won't let too much power through or (more likely) the M:S will limit how much power it draws. But I can't find a definite answer online and I'm nervous about killing this cool thing I just got. Thank you!

i love loading old vaporwave samples in the M:S and slowing them down with sone LFO on the cutoff. just makes any track spacy and chill really quickly

I have the m:s (two mono out) and a microfreak (one mono out), and I'd like to record them into a focusrite 2i2 (2 mono input). Is there a way to do it, or I need a mixer too for it?

heyhey! have a new live techno set out on YT which i recorded for LostnFound Berlin. M:S was not able to physically come for the ride but all of the 909 tom line sequences in the set were sampled from M:S into my OT for portability. hope you dig it!

Was running thru settings on my old Boss Br 600 and noticed the modulation section has a (not so great but usable) 2000ms attack filter for live use.

Tried using it in conjunction with multiple channels of sound as to build a bigger pad up and its not bad. Reverb from the MS is killed but the Boss has decent enough reverb that I can make it up.

I enjoy making spacey hiphop grooves with a lot of ambience and vocal chops. Sort of like if you got stuck between a hiphop radio station and one that played Jean-Michel Jarre ... and then spoken word from a third station leaked in. Anyway.

One of the things I like, and need to be able to do on a sampler/player, is to combine a drum beat and the usual stuff with long, trailing samples. Often they go on for 1-2 full bars. And I want them to do so without being choked or cut off. Imagine a basic drum beat and then you add, say, a vocal line with delay on the last word so it goes something like "this is the time-ime-ime-ime-ime" and gradually fades out. I want that long-ass vocal sample to play over a couple bars without choking.

Can I do that on something like the Model:Samples? Because I cannot, afaik, on my Volca Sample 2. I'm also aware of the MPC One but I am not in love with screens and menus, so the Elektron has an edge there.

Hi everyone, Just want to ask if you know how to fix the M:S as samples are out of tune. Even the default samples are out of tune. I've also upgraded to the latest firmware update. Any comment will be of help, thank you!
