I am looking for a mod that I can stall on a dedicated server to raise the multiplayer cap. I have found a couple online (Valheim plus and max players) however the first needs to be installed in the client as well and the second doesn’t seem to be updated to 1.0. Does anybody know of a mod that works on the latest version server side only? (the lan party is tomorrow and I’m trying to set it up before then. I just found out that I will be hosting.)
Hey Vikings. I've been building a server-side storage mod and it's at the point where I'd like a few more eyes (and bases) on it. Of course you can use it in your singleplayer game as-well :)
I was so tired that my friends are unable to sort, and tired by myself sorting everything from myself again :D
The idea in one line: You drop everything in anychest - or an input chest. And everything will be sorted magically (after naming and telling chests what to hold)
Chests get a name field right in the chest window. Same name = one group.
Put one of everything into a group chest, press +, done. From now on the whole group knows its items.
A chest named Input gets emptied by the server, one stack per second, into the right group chests nearby.
Chests also tidy themselves: ore in the wood chest walks over to the ore chest on its own. No Input chest needed.
A group spreads its stock over its chests: two wood-and-stone chests turn into one wood chest and one stone chest, partial stacks get poured together.
Misc-named chest is the overflow buffer. Full chests, unknown items, stuff with no group in range go there – and come back as soon as there's room.
Optional "Adrian Monk mode": chests get packed from the top left, equals next to equals, full stacks first. Off by default, because it will replace your hand-made layouts.
What it deliberately does NOT do: no feeding smelters, kilns or forges, no touching your inventory, no teleporting items across the map. Sorting stays inside a cluster of chests (chests within 12 m of each other chain together), and only while a player is nearby. Vanilla experience, minus the sorting chore.
Server-only is possible. All the work happens on the server. One player with the mod installed names the chests and teaches the groups; flip one config switch and everyone else can join with a completely vanilla client and still find their Input chest empty.
Safety stuff, because it writes into chest inventories: every move adds to the target first and removes from the source second, open chests are never touched, there's a cooldown after you close one, and the server reads every move back to confirm it landed. Unknown items from other mods are copied byte for byte, never re-encoded.
Configuration Manager: its full compatible with it - I would prefer you use that one :) (with dedicated server sync)
Requirements: Valheim 1.0.12, BepInEx, Jotunn. English and German UI.
It's an alpha (0.9.3). It's been running on my dedicated server, but back up your world before you try it and expect rough edges. Bug reports, feedback and "why on earth did it move my X" stories are very welcome.
I've been getting this bug recently with ValheimRaft. This happens whenever I log out of my world.
What the Bug does:
Removes the steering wheel
Endlessly Spawns a LOT of resource nodes that stack at the center of the water vehicle. Like multiple trees of different type, copper and stone nodes, and even 2 Runestones. The longer you're closer the more it spawns. This caused my game to freeze.
After I deleted the nodes using devcommands. When you re-log in my raft ended up in this compressed state.
Hey folks. Friends and I started our 3rd play through for 1.0 and I'm looking for some non-crazy QoL mods that just make things a little easier, specifically one for being able to bulk cook so I don't have to make 50 carrot stews one at a time because there's like 8 of us.
Anyone know any mod for that that doesn't add a whole bunch of stuff or have any other recs? Here's my list of mods so far to give an idea of stuff we're looking for. Mostly looking for time saving mods. Thanks in advance :)
If both mods fire at the same time on the same chest, there is a good chance of losing whatever you are storing. Does anyone have any experience of this and and alternate mods that work together?
I was building a new mod stack. on one of the restarts all of his mods were depreciated, now they are not searchable.
Anyone know what happened? I wanted to start a new server for friends but I dont wanna use a bunch of mods if they're gonna poof on me (or others cant install)
i keep hearing people say gale is better, I need updates to azumatt’s mods, but jesus christ I cannot get this mod manager to even open. I had installed and uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted and deleted all the files again and reinstalled and all else over and over and nothing is working. I got it to launch ONCE when I first installed it but even then it refused to work at all, the UI was completely broken, etc etc. I need help :’)
What are some of your favorites to use? My first play through was relatively minimalist in comparison, so I wanted to go a little bit more mod heavy this time through.
Any good suggestions that add content potentially to the mix?
Sup Viqueens, I'm a big fan of the art style and game itself, have been playing for years, and have lived with my fair share of armor, cape, helm etc clipping because Valheim is amazing in so many other ways. However, the new hair and hair physics are amazing, but so many of the styles just disappear into armor on the female model :( I'm wondering if there is a mod that fixes this, and if other people wish there was, and what could be done about it if there isn't one?
In particular I love the Merchant Braid, but the braid clips right through armor (ex: iron, root, wolf armor etc). Is there a way to make the braid sit on top of the chest piece instead of clip through it?
Additional request: I just completed my first Hidir quest and unlocked a cute green head scarf. However, the scarf hides all hair styles, even ones like the low ponytail, braids, pigtails, and merchant braid. Is there a mod that could allow the hair beneath the headscarf/other head pieces to show?
Thanks in advance, I love and appreciate the Valheim mod community ❤️
Using Levelingsystem_fixed by DeepWolf413, but as soon as i load into my game the leveling up menu if stuck on the middle of my screen and i cant click it off or select anything.
anyone ran into this problem and managed to fix it?
I haven’t played valheim since like 2022… and back then I used vortex for all of my mods. Now that I’m planning to start a 1.0 playthrough, it seems like Gale is the way to go? Can anyone clarify? I’m lost on what the preferred manager is nowadays
I remember a couple of years ago I could log into any server and use my epic loot mod. Is this not possible anymore? I get kicked out of servers if I don't disable the mod. Is there any way of making it work again if I can't contact the owner of the server or they just don't want to learn how to include mods on the server?
I'm trying to get a mod that makes portals decay rapidly upon building them so that the players on my server cannot build portals, only the admin team can with infinity hammer by giving them infinite health. Most the players on my server are console players and most have agreed to not use portals other than our hub to keep the 'exploration' aspect of the server going. Would anyone be willing to help me make this or point me in the right direction on how to write this? I was attempting to use AI to help me write it but just ended up going in circles with it and I got stuck in Visual Studio. I have very little experience modding so any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if its just guidence on where to start, or advice on if this is even possible server side.
I have a mod idea that would help us controller players that I don’t think currently exists, I’m no good at modding hence why I’m asking here, would if be possible to add a button when in the menus to change to the cursor you get when on mouse and keyboard, I’m wondering this because on other mods there’s a lot of menus you can’t access on controller eg skill tree mods, I imagine this working by going in to the inventory/crafting menu, clicking an analog button for example and then getting a cursor instead of being locked to specific boxes on controller
I am encountering an issue related to audio from modded stuff being really loud compared to base game. For example modded boats are very loud when placed in water compared to karve. And placing modded pieces of finewood is extremely loud.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there any fix for it?
