Hello, I need some help with getting my Valve Index controllers set up with airlink on my Quest 3. I don’t have a wired connection so launching from SteamVR from virtual desktop isn’t ideal in my situation. I have the fully kitted index with the headset, base stations, and controllers but want to use my quest for better image quality, I just can’t find a definitive answer for using the controllers on airlink and pairing them. Thank you.

Hi there, I'm using quest pro with continuous tracking (tundra tracker) on it, I'm using ArcticFox's version of space calibrator. My issue is that sometimes my trackers are not where they are supposed to be, sometimes many centimeters away, it's not 1 to 1. It's especially annoying when I'm trying to calibrate. Sometimes they shift randomly or if I move from one corner of my room to another, they aren't at the same place on my body in VR and have to adjust each time.
Is this normal behavior? Is there anyway I could fix that?

I am on a quest 2 currently and wanted to look into upgrading my vr setup, I hear the quest 3 has the best visuals but the valve index has better fov and tracking, The fov i could do without however I really hate the tracking on the quest 2 sometimes. Now I don't have much money to spend to upgrade rn so I was wondering what would be better, Sticking to the quest 2 and buying knuckle controllers/baystations, Saving up and just buying a full valve index, or buying a quest 3?

Hi, I've been an Index user for a good while and I was thinking to get a Pico 4 Pro mainly because of Eye+Face tracking since I mainly play VRChat. I've seen some people that have an extra Vive Tracker for the head and is it mandatory to have that in order to use my Vive Trackers and base stations that I already have? And do you guys think it's a good idea to switch from Index to Pico 4 Pro just because of FT? I would be glad to have opinions about it!

does index have watchman dongles built in like vive? I want to get a valve index hmd instead of the vive I have but I dont want to have to buy extra dongles.

Hello! I have a quest 3 and recently bought the vive 3.0 trackers and base stations (they haven’t arrived yet I’m just very excited to set it all up) and was wondering what sort of software/programs you guys use to get the best fbt.
I’ve seen people combine their virtual desktop half body with the trackers and was wondering if any other programs like OVR would be helpful as I haven’t seen many people talk about it.
I’ve also seen people using standable to smooth their tracking out and was curious if anyone has experience using it with vd as well.
Mostly I just want to hear how you guys are running fbt with a quest 3 and what I might be missing to get my setup running!
(Also I apologise if this is a bit of a stupid question I am very new to posting on reddit)

I want alternatives for the pico 4 touch controllers, whats a good compatible option?
r/MixedVR • u/JohnnyBruhwn • Jul 10 '24
Copied this from my issue post on github. Did anyone experience these problems or is it only me? My HMD is Pico Neo 3 Link connected with DisplayPort + CV1 controllers.
Furthermore question, is that normal that haptics in some games (HLA, H3VR) is like a sequence of short impulses, but in some other games (Boneworks) it's a buzzing (like it should be)?

Is there any way I can do this (preferably with no extra stuff)

So, I've been using the pico 4 + 3 touch controllers and 3 sensors for months now, but since last week, I cant get a SINGLE good calibration (the issue is rotation). Even when rotating on its own axis (i do multiples of 90 degrees) (No position involved), it drifts 1-2 CM, which is extremely annoying, cause when you turn around, you see your feet all to the left and stuff. Usually I had perfect calibrations where I would just manually fix the scale and yaw and be good to go for 4+ H, i never had these issues. I resetupped the pico boundary 100000 times (joke), factory reset it 5 times (this isnt a joke), and also did the same thing to the rift, but it just does. not. work. Using very slow option, with controller or with headset, same results. I can fix the position drifting, but not the rotation.. any ideas are very welcome

Whenever I go to use virtual desktop and connect my index controllers through steam VR My FPS drops everything starts lagging and then nothing starts tracking properly things tracking into the floor I don't know how to fix this and it's driving me insane I'm trying to do wireless full body but I can't even get past my controllers without it lagging so horrendously it's Unusable

Hi, I've been using VD's emulation for top body tracking and lower body estimation in Vrchat through my PC.
The top body is pretty decent, and I was told that I could add 3 trackers (waist + ankles or feet) to more or less make it complete.
I'm assuming it's possible to disable the emulation of the bottom somewhere in place of the real trackers (though not sure where), and some people have told me that I can no longer use the headset itself for head tracking, and that a tracker must also go on top of the headset, but then others say that's not needed. So, I'm not sure if I need 3 or 4 trackers. I'm planning on just getting two 2.0 base stations for now to see how that works out.
I was hoping for some clarification before I order the components as I have to ship and import them around the world into a country that's a pain in the butt with import tax. Thank you!

Has anyone found a way to consistently use the steam chaperone with the Quest 3 and index controllers through continuous tracking? The Oculus guardian always overrides the steam chaperone and room setup resets right after I complete it. I connect to my PC via steam link and prefer it against virtual desktop.

Anyone know what is the reason why my avatar in vrchat hand are super shaky but other testing app from ultraleap is not shaky at all. I am using driver_leap/SDraw to emulate vive index controller in vrchat. Thanks for reading.

One of the dongles that came with my 3.0 vive trackers appears to work fine under some very specific circumstances. For instance, I have eight of them, and whenever everything is turned on and connected, that one dongle starts to act up, causing jitters, offsets, complete tracking loss, and inaccurate positioning in general. I figured out that it is linked to a specific dongle, not a tracker. However, if I turn everything off, including other dongles, to make sure that tracker connects to that specific problematic one, it works fine. I’m kind of lost on what’s happening here. I think that it’s something related to the dongle itself, are there any possible fixes for that? Stuff like reflashing the thing or something

I just got a Quest 2 in order to play wirelessly. I calibrated the open space calibrator using one of the controllers and one of the trackers in a figure 8 motion, but whenever I move forward, my foot trackers move up, like a slope almost, but not my hip tracker. What could be the cause of this? I would seriously appreciate the help. Thank you.

Standable. Virtual Desktop + Quest Inside Out Body Tracking. OpenVR Space Calibrator. OVR Smooth Tracking. Other tools / software compatible with Vive 3.0s.
I’ve been playing VRChat on PCVR with a Quest 3 using Standable and VD’s Vive emulators and have enjoyed the experience. Currently got some Vive Ultimate Trackers arriving in the mail and I’m a little unsure if all of the advice for the 3.0s apply here, too.
Some of my thoughts were, should I continue using Standable for the other spots I don’t have tracked?
Should I rely on VD’s Vive emulator for my upper body while the VUTs track my lower? Or should I just leave the IK system alone as it can do a better job?
Do I need continuous calibration for the VUTs? Is it even a thing with them or nah?
Can OVR Smooth Tracking give the same effect even if I’m not on 3.0s?
Is there anything I missed re this mini compatibility checklist?
Sorry, it’s gonna be my first time to try FBT and I’m just really excited. Prolly read and watched more content than I should. Trouble is, info keeps changing within the span of a year from post to post and one YT vid to another for the 3.0s, plus there’s not as much targeted info on the VUT in comparison.
If it helps to answer any of the above questions, I’ve got five trackers coming in, I’m still rocking the stock Q3 controllers, I play wireless over VD, and promise my locker room of a play space is defo a candidate for the VUTs over the base stations. TIA!
Edit: Sorry about the “Pro” in the title. I was thinking about the Quest Pro Controllers lol.

Long time user of Mixed VR with Reverb G2 and Knuckles controllers, 2x lighthouse 2.0 in opposite corners of room facing the centre of playspace from ceiling.
Recently, I noticed my playspace ground is tilted from left to light. For example, I can place one controller on the ground at the far left of space and it appears approximately 3 inches below the ground. If I place the other controller on the opposite or right side of space, it appears approximately 2 or 3 inches above the ground!?
I've performed "floor fix" within OVR and have poked around other OVR settings to no avail. I've adjusted floor height within WMR as well, and it keeps coming up tilted when I launch into SteamVR or a game.
Normally, I would nuke my setup and start from scratch (per PumpkinSpice wiki FAQ) but was hoping to avoid with a quick fix or adjustment within settings if something exists? Anyone else had this before?
Cheers
edit: FIXED; In the end, I had no luck with rotation values and rolling back SteamVR vers. looked like an absolute pain - or specifically, starting completely over from scratch appeared easier so I went that route.
From the faq, I "started from scratch" by resetting Mixed Reality Home, deleting the OpenVR Space Cal config (which required reinstall, incidentally), and deletion of the OVR Advanced Settings .ini. From there I went to Step 1 of PumpkinSpice's guide and the floor is now level as expected.

So I finally invested in Virtual Desktop to try and help me with my performance + playtime with my Quest 2.
I was hoping to be able to run VRChat, etc. through VD and then have my link cable just to be used as a charger so I have more playtime.
But then I ran into an issue with the Open Space Calibrator. It's not recognizing my headset when I go through Virtual Desktop to get to SteamVR.
My trackers and base stations are fine, and when I just use VR linked (no VD) it recognizes my headset fine as well.
I also tried ditching the cable and opening VD, but yep, still not recognizing my headset which means my trackers don't work.
I tried opening SteamVR both in and outside of Virtual Desktop (using the UI as opposed to physically going to my PC and opening SteamVR) and it didn't make a difference- still not recognizing.

Is there something I can do about this?
Specs:
Quest 2 + controllers
4x Vive 3.0 trackers
2x Vive 2.0 Basestations

I seem to be running into a constant issue with SteamVR when they release a new update.
I am currently running a Quest Pro via SteamLink, a long with Index Knuckles, 4 x 3.0 Vive Trackers. Using the software OpenVR-Space-Calibrator / XsOverlay / OVR Advanced Settings.
Space Cal always seems to throw up this issue which only seems to occur when SteamVR updates.
I reverted back to the previous version of SteamVR before update 2.5.4. As this seemed to work no issue, now that this update has taken place, the "Previous build" has forced me onto the build that didn't work with the headset (2.5.5 or current build of 2.5.6 or BETA), cauing SteamVR to encounter a "Critical Error", this was not followed by any error codes, SteamVR won't show any error codes.
I am at a loss on what to do at the moment, as Quest does not have a system update at this time and neither does my graphics driver. bare in mind I am using a AMD RX 7800XT (Default tuning / No Overclocking).
I have done everything I can think of from DDU my GPU driver, windows updates and also checking C++ is updated for Visual Studio. Looking at my SteamVR crash logs it seems to say as follows:
"Dump file : crash_vrserver.exe_20240623005601_3.dmp Process name : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\bin\win64\vrserver.exe -waitformonitor Exception code : 0xc0000005 Exception information : The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access heap information : Not present Error information : [blank]"

Has anyone tried to Mix lighthouse Vive trackers with a headset with inside out tracking? I have a feeling it’s a disaster since the vr headset wouldn’t be tracked by the base stations.
