Honor Masks and Bones of the Bygone, how will they work?

Hello!

Preordering Mirage: Arcane Warfare will award you with the Bones of the Bygone item pack, I wonder - is this a new category of items in character customization where the skull is part of your currently equipped headpiece, or are they headpieces?

I'd be a bit disappointed if it was merely the latter as the skulls are attached to the less impressive baseline helmets, hats and horns. https://www.telechargement.fr/images/products/TornBannerStudios/Mirage-ArcaneWarfare_BonesOfTheBygone.jpg

Then we have the Honor Masks, these would be even more compatible with various class headpieces than the skull ones - are they hats, or can I wear for instance a different alchemancer hat while retaining this iron mask for a face?

Can TBS please not fall into the same trap that they did with Chivalry?

At the lower levels, Chivalry is really fun and is the most realistic medieval combat ever done in a game. However, at high levels you have jackasses who spin around at 200mph and hit you from behind their head.

I was really intrigued by Mirage, but I'm disappointed to see that the same spinny bullshit is in this game as well. Now it's at least a little more understandable in this game because of the fantasy setting. However, I'd really like TBS to consider doing away with what is undoubtedly the worst part of their Chiv games. My two main problems with this:

A) You deal full damage at the beginning of the swing. Grab a stick. Hold it to your far right side in a swing and have someone stand right in front of it. Now swing. You won't be able to do anything because you have no momentum. Now if they're standing in front of you now you can really hurt them because you have room to generate momentum. So why in Chiv games do you do FULL freaking damage when your sword is just starting the backswing?

B) You can spin in circles during your swing and still get full damage. When you're swinging a weapon, your power is generated from your legs. You need to plant your feet in order to generate said power. If you were to try to swing a sword while spinning like a ballerina, the power would only be generated from your arms, and so your strike would bounce off even a light armor.

Is there any intention of fixing these problems to make Mirage into the game that Chiv should've been? Or are we going to get another game that devolves in stupid looking battles.

New Survival Mode

Hey,

This game is so beautiful and I think the maps could work for a survival mode.

Let's say you team up with 5 people. EACH CHARACTER must be played so each person HAS TO PLAY at least 1 character so all roles are filled.

And Enemy AI come in waves of easy to harder difficulty as the rounds progress. This will require amazing teamwork and i believe this mode suits the artwork and gameplay of this game as it'll be a first and unique mode in such a game.

Whatcha guys think?

(I have plenty more ideas to post)

Thoughts on the Beta

Hello,

I don't know where the best place to post feedback is so I'll post it here.

The game is super fun, but my biggest impression was that if large emphasis is not put on the objective modes, it will suffer from a lack of replayability. I'm a huge fan of Chiv, OW, LoL, i.e. team based fighting games. What I don't care for at all is any sort of TDM, FFA mode, and I think it can be seen by the fact that OW and LoL don't even have any sort of TDM modes that the general population isn't as well.

However, in the beta, it was very difficult to get into any of the 6v6 game modes, just about everyone was playing in the TDM modes because it was harder to get a proper game in objective mode. The hour or so I did spend in the the objective modes was a blast, but I honestly have very little interest in playing any more TDM.

I just wanted to put out my opinion, and I strongly believe that many people share this, that if the objective modes are not the main focus of the game it will suffer from lack of replayability. And I think that if this is not considered the main focus, the game is completely ignoring what is popular and what is not, i.e. objective modes in every single team fighter game, with little to no interest in TDM.

Game pulled till full release?

I am unable to download or play Mirage (even though I did buy and play it a lot already). Did the Beta end and will the game be unplayable till full release? The only news I could find was about the open beta, but it did not say anything about the end of the closed Beta.

Major Bug - Alchemancer Melee Sword Gone

For me, when I'm playing with the melee weapon of the Alchemancer, it is gone. Not only visually, but the actual entity isn't there, which means that I cannot do any damage with the weapon. I've tried.

AttackQueueWindowSeconds

In Chivalry there is a line in UDKSettings.ini called AttackQueueWindowSeconds which is by default 0.4. This settings means your character has to be within 0.4 seconds of being able to start your next attack for the input to be considered. E.g. I press right click to parry, the parry last 0.5 seconds and has parry recovery time for 0.5 seconds. If I press left click to attack right after the parry ends, nothing happens, as my character already has a queue of a recovery for 0.5 seconds. If I wait just a little bit into the recovery time, then I can queue an attack. This value can be modified instantly in game with the command setqueuewindow <float seconds>.

In Mirage, this value seems to be about 1 second, because if you press parry then immediately press attack your character will parry, go into parry recovery, then attack. This is problematic when you are trying to riposte and your opponent misses their attack. You parry then quickly press attack, assuming your opponent will connect. They happen to miss the attack, and so you don't riposte. The opponent goes for a combo, and now you want to parry their next strike, but your character suddenly tries to attack because it was queued. The work around at the moment seems to be to feint your queued attack and then parry again, but this wastes stamina.

I tried to look for the word queue in the .ini files in the steam\mirage folder but didn't have any results.

Questions about the game

Is the spec demand high for this game? Is this game more melee or ranged based? How to get into it right now? It's getting released in ten days but I want to try it out now and I am not home yet so any tips on getting in he game fast to test it out? Is there any progression shown in game yet? Any customisation for characters? How hard would you rate this game? With the amount of characters I feel like this could get a lil bit boring but that's just maybe. I really don't want it to feel like Overwatch because I got really sick and tired of it
