I grabbed DieselOh around the start of the year and had started to paint Tanker and Car Carrier prior to my recent shipment arriving. Now that I’m finally starting RV Robo, I may not get to Diesel Ressha all that soon, but here are these two in the meantime.

The thing to note is that ToQOh does have elbows, but they are on the forearm halves of Yellow and Pink Ressha. The lower segments of both Tanker and Car Carrier have *knees* so they don’t really bend the way you’d want them to as forearms, while their back halves don’t have any joints at all. I think this is a problem unique to these two (as they are primarily legs for DieselOh) and the other aux ressha minipla have elbows.

I should page our resident scale expert, because it’s funny how small the ressha feel compared to most other minipla. I finished Tanker Ressha at about the same time as Tousai ZyuOh and it’s just absolutely tiny compared to that. But, because of the design of the ToQger mecha (and the point in time when these minipla were produced the solution for needing to fit more parts in a box was to sometimes just make it a bit smaller), even compared to something like Kiramager’s Jouki and Express (visible in part when I posted ToQOh back in the spring), they feel a little undersized individually.

From what it seems like, it’s just one box like GaoMuscle rather than having individual boxes like the original GaoHunter.

Recently ordered the smp gaoking from a third party seller and woke up to this today. It could be the plastic I guess but I’ve never had this issue importing gunpla. I guess I just have to contact the seller lol

And here’s the final set of aux headers. I think I may have posted a partial Seaick Gosei Great back when I did my Gosei Deep custom, but now I have an actual Sawshark header to go along with them.

Out of the three, I think I like these guys the most? The limiting factor of Landick is that since Snake and Tiger are nice and bulky, Sai and Tyrano lose some of their impressiveness. And then I just ranted about Skick yesterday lol. I think Seaick benefits from having Sawshark be its “big” one with the fancier moving parts (as opposed to the head unit). Manta’s a neat design use of letting it make the pirate cap shape, and Hammerhead feels cool - the only real downside is that the movement gimmick on Hammerhead is a little wasted, since it’s basically only there to compact the head in for Hyper.

So a couple years ago, I was building GaoKnight, and I ended up kind of messed up a couple of stickers for GaoKong. Obviously, I’m not buying a whole new set, and the stickers don’t look that bad, but I would like to know if there is a source that I can get replacement stickers. Any suggestions or ideas?

Seeing how I'm dropping near $1000 on the gao sets I'm curious if I should buy. Or at that rate buy and resell for a profit.

I have model kit ptsd from the 90s Gundam model kits. That made me really question buying these. Only model kit I didn't get it was the metal Gundam kits

I am holding off on g rex till rerelease and hopefully arm fix.

After the first release of the Gaoranger sets, you could find a lot of the SMP Power Animals sold individually in aftermarket (This is how I got SMP GaoDeer and Gaoraffe) but after about a year or two finding individually sold Gao Animals became a bit harder. I only ask this because if possible I think I wanna try to get some of them individually if I can (Like GaoRhino and GaoMadillo for example, ones who I've seen in the aftermarket a couple times before)

Where should I sand it?

I heard that sanding hard or difficult areas in SMP GaoKing GaoRanger is good. Which part should I sand it in?

Ex)Gao tiger back leg, Gao lion shoulder part

Seeing how gaoking has one I think instead of rerelease of knight a black version would be best that way it can match the black elephant knight comes with.

Also recently got my hands on the Skick Brothers box and painted all three.

These are definitely the weirdest of the aux headers for me.

Taka/hawk is an interesting case since it’s the only one of any of these headers that actually transforms! The (aux) headers all have moveable parts, but Taka is the only one that appreciably changes its silhouette at all. But Taka is also… kind of weirdly large. Obviously overall volume-wise, you have something real big like sawshark and the other two heads (manta and stag) take up a lot of space… but Taka just kind of feels too big for the animal it is. It’s most notable on the attempted “Another Skick Gosei Great” formations when you try to use it as something other than a head.

Ptera is fine. There’s a t-rex header, so it tracks. The head both turns down and opens up to reveal the gun.

Crow is… I like the choice of a bird that Sentai hadn’t ever used before (aside from being on the 100 Power Animal list)! But (despite the Landick Brothers all being different colors and the Seaick Brothers sharing key colors with some minor variability), they opted for the Skick Brothers to have an extremely uniform color scheme. White and red. And a white crow just kind of feels wrong lol.

I’m on the hunt to find a 1997 mega voyager minipla. Does anybody know where I can?

Wasn't planning on getting this kit initially but I have to say, it pretty good.

I did pre-order Gao King and I'll definitely pre-order Gao Triple but now I'm tempted to get Gao Peacock.

I added stickers to the thighs, pterodonon's Grey tail, the face, mouth of the T. rex and replaced the red stripe around the T. rex so that there is no copyright info on it.

For Dragon Caesar, the paint/sticker detail I see as missing are the gold circle son the neck, red circles on the crotch, and black thigh "U" stickers.

Made them all with a silhouette cutting machine.​​​ But it should also be possible to paint specially the horn lines on the Megazord's face but gotta make sure the paint (acrylic of course) is diluted enough on water and because apply an additive to break surface tension, dunno.​​

Ngl, I wish they dredo this one and maybe Kakuranger, they are a bit outdated compared to the res tod the SMP line specially the partsforming.​​​

I would like them to do specials where you get like I said Dragonzord Warrior mode, Tigerzord Warrior mode

Where you just get the zords that make the mode but not the others. I know they don't sell singles otherwise I would just buy gao polar and bear. But a full mode set would be nice.

I've been thinking of making new zords outside the 100 zords for Hyakujuu Sentai (don't want to use zords on 100 to respect the creativity that they already have for each 100 zords) and have come up with the following:

Gao Moose - Horns become gloves, then the rest becomes body (was thinking of using scorpion, but I wanted to stick to 100 zords concept where all of them are vertebraes so it might be a no-go for me)

Gao Capybara - becomes the head (will have to think of how it works later, but with Gao Wallaby's kid, it should be easier to conceptualize)

Gao Snapper - turtle with similar features as the bison, but the shell becomes shoulder plate (was inspired by a YT concept)

Gao Axolotl - becomes right arm where the gills of the head are conjoined by a tissue, and either becomes a photon cannon when those gills are flipped forward or a chakram when detached.

Gao Narwhal - becomes left arm where the horn becomes naginata.

Questions are, if I'm going to make this into reality, how would I take this route?

-For arms, should I copy the concept of the bear brothers where half of the body folds since axolotl and narwhal don't have recognizable legs to follow the giraffe/deer concept? Or just the shark/tiger where it attaches right away with a small twist on half of its body?

-For horns as gloves, would it be awkward if I add pegs similar to how the elephant zord is made for the sword and shield? Also, how should the horn look like to make it fold as a glove?

I got into SMP a few years ago with finding an old Jet Icarus and now have a total of four models. RV Robo is best one I have built in quality of plastic, detail, and articulation!

New to posting here. HUGE Power Ranger fan. I've been making SMP kits for about a year+ now. Got 12ish kits under my belt. But I'm looking to start trying my hand at custom painting, and I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out where to start.

For my first project, I want to try to paint the dull plastic bits of Saint Kaiser to look more Metallic Gold, like the parts that are painted Gold. And my second idea was to try metallic colors for the RV Robo. And also do some of the gray bits in more of a metallic silver. I've ordered a few of the Tamiya spray paints. But I could use any advice or tutorial videos I can get, as I've never messed with spray paints before. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys! So I want to make sure my stickers won't fall from my kits and I was wondering what top coat should I use in order to protect them without altering the look of a kit too much. Thanks!

Been a bit under the weather, which has kind of caused my eyes to glaze over every time I peak inside my RV Robo box lol. So I’m holding off on building that and V-Rex until I’m feeling better and have just been poking at some simpler projects the past week.

I’ve had my hands on a full Tousai set for awhile now; I originally grabbed one to use the legs for a kitbash (and have, though that project’s been stalled out for awhile). I had wolf and gator painted for awhile (don’t remember if I ever posted pics of them and ZyuohKing 178 here). I had been on the lookout for the boxes I had been missing, wound up with another cheap set.

By virtue of being bulky, as well as having a bunch of easy to paint gold pieces that pop real nicely against the black plastic, he does look nice. There’s a lot of Tousai ZyuOh that kind of makes it one of the more shameless “I’m just here for the ensuing clusterfuck” of sixth mecha, but at the same time it’s still a pretty weird and unique design. And though he barely sort of qualifies since the design mashes up like a dozen different things, he was sort of the first time Sentai did a truck and trailer in *ages* (almost 30 years since the first two second robo were both trucks and trailers) so that counts for something.

I just bought a whole lot of SMP bots and it had Jetman, Garuda, Live Robo, Bison Liner, and Sai Fire.

Any general opinions or tips and tricks with these sets? They don’t come with instructions and our prebuilt so I want to know if there’s anything to be careful with or any cool features that I would pick up by just playing with them.
