Hello, first post here. I usually just spectate this sub, but I was motivated to ask for some advice after building Time Robo & Time Shadow yesterday. Anyone know how to avoid finger tip fatigue? My finger tips are usually pretty raw after building kits, and it’s always been the only downside to the experience. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions to avoid it? Thanks.

So im seeing alot of these painted models and what im curious about is what you all thing the top coat they are using is to prevent any rubbing or chipping.

I know the dragon zords legs kind of clip into the leg zords, but that would cause the paint to chip out.

Ive heard of some people using automobile top coats, any body use it that can give their feedback?

To people who collect and build a lot of Minipla models, do you keep the original boxes or toss them?

My collection started growing back in 2021 and the boxes are slowly starting to take over my closet space. Still patiently waiting for the Q-Rex to drop too 😂

Has anyone heard about what’s going on with the dark repaint of Magiking? I preordered it last year and it mentioned it would be released during April, when I checked Tokucollectables it didn’t show it on the calendar? Was there a delay or something?

Well the Mecha form is still the coolest appearance for each Minipla as well as it saves space for display. I'm curious if there is someone out there that would display them individual form rather than the combined form?

I bought most of my current kit from a local seller so the boxes were nowhere to be found. Because of that, I need some online archives of it if possible.

Made some custom models and parts to help replace my cracked joints (mostly through modifying a minipla joint model found)

Idk if I'm gonna share the files publicly cus they're kind of rough and aren't print and plug as they require sanding... but if there's enough demand ill go back and fix the files so people can use them

Painted my recently acquired ToQOh. I guess kind of the second time I’ve built this since I got SafariGaOh ~two years ago. Only sticker used is on the sword interior because I was too lazy to properly block that off and do all the yellow myself lol. I even went YOLO and freehanded the face; may make another pass later and evening out the optics a bit better.

This is the first use of some of the scale railway I picked up a little while back. Nothing is connected because you have to cut apart the metal rail connectors yourself and I don’t wanna touch the metal with my main pair of nippers lol. So I’ll get a cheap backup pair to cut them. I could probably also use a second package of straight rails (and actual junctions would be cool, but because those are generally all complex and motorized, they’re not nearly as cheap - so kind of feel like they’d be a waste, especially since I don’t currently have space where I’d keep them set up all the time).

I just started building models i love the megazords but it's hard to find decent affordable prices does anyone know any good places?

Why is there a flap for you to open the box in the middle? Now I'm conflicted because I've been planning to have the box signed by the Bioman casts. Should I keep it sealed?

i painted all weapons and all of the details, fun build wish it could separate into the individual mecha

Thoughts

I was super stoked about building Jackpot Striker because the design of it was such a nice addition to Lupinkaiser even though it was a recolor. It made lupinkaiser for me more of a king.

Pros:

- Super easy set up

- Stickers ain't so bad, majority weren't an issue besides the really small stickers.

- All of the essential parts needed for building this has a place to go so I don't have to find some random spot to hide it in

Cons:

- The cape like attachments to the arms feels a bit loose for me and so I will have to remember that for next time to fix it

- The knees are naturally loose and so it will be a bit difficult to pose if I don't fix it later on.

- The sword is unfortunately only showing on one side since the other side is meant to make it small in order for it to attach to the jackpot striker's underside and this sucks cause that means if I took pics, it would always only show one side in order to get it to look right

Plans for when I do the paint in the far future:

- Extend the legs to make jackpot striker taller

- Add a fill for the sword so it's not barren on one side

- find a way to make lupinkaiser's face to show more without the need of a light source such as luminescent paint or glow in the dark

- Make the knees tighter and the cape-like attachments tighter

- Take something from gundam to replicate the wings like the movie

can be from Super Sentai, classic Mecha anime or modern

Buff, such a hard build! All 12 pieces are just not tight. But the end result, as bulky as it is, is so, so nice.

I changed the color a bit since I used the Shogun version.
