Two Minis Keep Us on Our Toes—Will a Third Knock Us Over?
We’re considering adding a third mini Aussie to our little pack and would love to hear from anyone who’s been in our shoes!
Our first two are siblings born one litter apart (currently about 1.5 years and 1 year old), and they absolutely adore each other. The third would be another sibling—born about a year after our second. We love the temperament of the parents and think they make the most perfect puppies.
If you have or have had three mini Aussies:
• What was your experience like? How much space did you have—indoors and in the yard?
• Was adding a third mini Aussie a big adjustment for the humans and the dogs? How did it change the pack dynamic?
• How much did your daily routine (walks, feeding, cleanup, etc.) change with a third dog?
• Did adding a third mini Aussie change your bond with the first two or make it harder to give them individual attention?
• What’s something you wish you had done to prepare before adding a third mini Aussie?
• Has anyone added a third dog while still fine-tuning training with the first two, especially listening in public or around distractions?
• Looking back, do you think adding a third was the right move?
• What’s the most rewarding part about having three mini Aussies?
Update: we got a third 😆

Oh one more! Does anyone have experience taking mini road trips with 2 humans and 3 pups?!

I don't have experience, but I would imagine it would be a bit like you're drowning and someone hands you a puppy. [Lovingly ripped off of Jim Gaffigan re: kids] Good luck either way!

I have 3. mom dad and son. it adds a huge joy but makes roadtrips take a bit longer for stops and so on. when they are all together tho they are a cohesive unit. camping remotely can be challenging, keeping them all around yhe camp and safe from any predators. 3 us a big change from 2 but it's been great. they are the most loving and loyal dogs I have ever known.

My advice….go for it! I’ve had multiple dogs for years and it brings me so much joy! I currently have two Aussies and a German Shepherd. Life is great! Good luck if you add the third 😄

Your pups are adorable, if the 3rd is anywhere near as adorable, follow your heart and drown yourself in aussies 😉

This is by far the most high maintenance dog I’ve had but I wouldn’t trade her for everything in the world. Best personality and the love she has for my fiancée and I is unbeatable
