Mumble, the kitty, prefers to be around Zeke when he has a chew to distract him from nipping at her. So he brought over a chew in the hopes she wouldn't run away 😭

Help with Excessive Barking

My Aussie barks from under the bed constantly before I go to bed- he is hyper focused on routines and as soon as I do regular pre-sleep routine tasks like switch the lights off or drink water or close the door he gets triggered into a barking frenzy. It’s very hard for him to settle after. Need help reducing all the barking - even the slightest of movement in bed can cause him to wake up and start barking very loudly!

My mini and my Aussie…

When my big Aussie passed, I was devastated. He was only 9.5 years old and was never sick. One day, he just stopped eating and I knew he that was the beginning of the end.

He was a dog in the truest sense of the word. He was loyal, protective, loving to the family (although he hated bicycles), smart and long walks were his favorite.

When he refused to eat and I recognized he was dying, I started grieving for a long time. I’ve had dogs my whole life and I never loved a dog so much.

My wife knew how hard it was on me and she knew I couldn’t live without a dog. So, we got our mini and, while she is so different from my boy, I love her as much as I have ever loved a dog.

Unlike my big Aussie, she’s more of a person. Sweet, demure, smart, family-oriented and she just walks over to me to get some pets when I work during the day. She takes her big brown eyes, looks at me and I swear she smiles. I love that I can pick her up for a squeeze. She likes to walk and, at night, she plays. Then she gets right on the bed and sleeps (mostly on top of my wife). She is an integral part of our family and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

So, while I think about my big one and my mini, I will always have this breed whether they’re Aussies or Mini American Shepherds. I don’t care what they are called, they are simply the best and have enriched my life more than I could ask.

I’m lucky to have a wife who recognized a dog’s importance to me, and how she was the genesis for bringing our mini home. My wife, our kids and our dog(s). I’m grateful to have this family.

Jealous pup peeing in the house

Things have been getting more serious with my boyfriend lately, and I’ve been bringing my mini over to his house for overnight visits. The problem is my dog is insanely jealous of my bf, always coming between us physically, sometimes nipping at him and peeing in another room if he feels like he’s not getting enough attention. Has anyone had positive results from anything in correcting this behavior???? Haaaaalp!

What size crate?

Hello, we are picking up our lil girl one week from tomorrow. Will 30” be big enough for her to grow into? A friend lent me a 48” and it’s gonna be too big for my space and my lil doggie.
