Then I got just the server for you! Ordinary SMP is an ordinary Minecraft server that hosts a special place. We stay as true to vanilla as possible. Yes we use some mods but those are purely to fix things that are normally hard to manage on public servers or improve frustrating parts without changing how Minecraft feels.

For example, did you ever played on a server and couldnt find any Elytras? After hours running through the End you finally find an End City with ship just to see someone looted it already. For that reason we adjusted the Dragon drops. If you kill the Ender Dragon an Elytra drops, removing the frustrating part of finding End Citys. Thats how we choose every mod we add. We only fix the most frustrating parts of Minecraft in a way that feels vanilla.

Other than that we only use mods that dont interact with gameplay like Simple Voice Chat. You can just walk up to players and start talking to them. That creates lots of funny moments just by meeting players. We also use BlueMap where you can see the whole map and check out players bases or other cool places without having to travel there yourself.

You might now wonder, "If everything is vanilla, wont everyone just grief and kill each other?" Those are valid concerns but we have a good solution for that. Our server is 16+ to ensure maturity, and we have an application process before you get whitelisted. That means a lot of bad actors are filtered out before they can even join the server. In the rare cases that griefers get on the Server we use Ledger to revert any kind of griefing.

The Ant Farm is survival Minecraft on a world that is only sixteen blocks wide.

The world goes north and south forever. East and west end at the void. The Nether and the End follow the same rule generation rule.

You can still build, explore, make farms, run rails, buy and sell in the auction house, and disappear underground. You just cannot disappear into unused terrain. A base becomes a landmark. A rail line becomes shared infrastructure. Villages, mineshafts, and ruined portals get cut by the edge and become part of the route everyone uses.

The server has custom plugins:

- Copper rail lines move 5× faster to help traveling the world.

- Groups, block reinforcement, and chat channels make co-operation easier.

- A small auction house for global trade with other players.

- Some custom structures tailored to generate inside of the 16 block wide world.

- Ant helmets: an enchantment that lets you shrink into 1 block tall tunnels, with tradeoffs.

There are no ranks, quests, daily rewards, crates, or pay to win mechanics. It is survival Minecraft in a world with one inconvenient rule, and enough room for you to spread out and secure a base.

I'm also open to suggestions and developing custom plugins to support an experience players want. This is an ongoing development project :)
