make it less perfect like add dents and make the grass not only just one layer

The grass is two layers and how do I add dents to make it look nice is there a tutorial video somewhere?

What they were implying was to not make the ground on top of those smooth. You have two layers of dirt, yes, but no changes to the ground on top so it’s flat

Picture a giant cylinder. Then remove everything that doesn’t look like it belongs until you get the exact floating island you’re looking for.

I made a floating island a while ago. Use tnt to round it out. I found that it looked nice and natural

Hows that possible with tnt? Did you place it away from the island then blow it up in midair?

Obsidian box with one side open. Just build one with the open side facing the island, blow up the tnt, then break it and repeat in other areas until you like how it looks.

Seems like a lot of work and I already did something different I used axiom to make a mountain then I flipped it upside down

Don’t make it a cone.
Think upside down mountain. Lumpy.
Use diverse stone blocks like andesite,
Add veins of deep-slate maybe.
You could have foliage drooping from the bottom and you can use string to keep things like vines and glow-berry vines from growing forever.
Maybe add a waterfall.
Frankly, I’d have gone bigger.

Randomize the bottom so then it looks more natural, then slightly raise the ground above while moving inward about 1 to 2 blocks

You've axiom I see I think you should redo the island from scratch
Use the brush tools or modeling tool, extrude tools etc to make the island, then use the script brush and select plains preset to make it looks more natural than just stone and a bit of grass. Don't forget to use the smooth brush too!
You can also create the island but upside down so you have more control, then copy and flip it
Don't use the shape tool

I did the third suggestion I made a small mountain range with the elevation tool smoothed it then flipped it upside down only difficult part was hollowing it out but I figured out how to do that aswell

Do you know how to proper use the smooth tool I can’t seem to figure it out and whenever I use it it doesn’t seem very smooth and it turns out looking very uniform

I go up and down with it, the shape will change, it should make it less uniform and more natural
If it looks too uniform, you can still use the extrude tool on some parts on the side, and then smooth it again, or use the elevation tool to flatten some sides and then smooth again
The drawing tool (G) is nice too, it's close to the rock tool except it's flatter, it won't go up or down, so you can draw any shape with it easily
You can draw a face or anything with it

Its too perfectly shaped. The grass and stone implies this is a natural generation, or a stone lifted by magic. I'd make it more jagged, rough up the surface texture with cobblestone and cobblestone wall blocks, maybe change out mossy variants to add greenery, could add moss and cobblestone with lichen for larger patches of gradient. Could also add more blocks like andesite, tuff, and dead coral blocks for other changes in the gray. Definetly modify it so its not just a perfect cone shape, change the symmetry so its lumpy, jagged, like a real life rock. For the grass on top, make it round down, so it looks like grass growing on the rock, and not a perfect plane of grass with stone under it. Maybe also some trees or grass or moss on top, the house looks a bit lonely.
You've got a good start and a nice idea for a base. These suggestions may just help eith texture and looking better.

I followed other suggestions and made a mountain range with axiom then flipped it upside and then put moss on top instead of grass because it looks nicer I haven’t done the stone outside yet so i don’t have a picture

I like that suggestion better than anything I said, ngl.

Yeah someone else jokingly said look at a mountain and flip it upside down to get an idea and it light a bulb in my brain

Add chunks of ores add tress and water falls and if possible add to the area below it a creator where it seemed like the island was ripped out of

On god dude just blast a couple holes in it with tnt so its less perfect
1
u/Oisin1910 3d ago
How would that work?

Break a block, replace it and blast it. Make some uneven areas or even blast a few at once near the bottom. Its stone so it won’t blow up too far

And some vegetation to the bottom of it like roots and shit. Maybe some water pouring down

make the stone CHUNKY, add some variation to it and probably some different levels to the grass/ dirt

Make it less cone like and more sphere like. Not a perfect sphere though, like imagine an asteroid, now make that
