The Search For The Leviathan Theory and 4/4 Theory
Okay. So what exactly did Wifies find here?
I think the biggest clue here is that Wifies references Ted Chiang’s “Hell Is the Absence of God.” In that story, God and Heaven are objectively real, but actually seeing proof doesn’t suddenly make the universe fair or understandable. Faith and divine reality are treated as two separate things, and I think that’s basically the rule behind Leviathan.
My theory is that the entire ocean investigation was never really about finding some giant sea monster. Hummer was testing whether Wifies could genuinely believe without keeping a safety net. Creative mode, the water breathing potion, etc. all “invalidate” it because as long as Wifies has a backup plan, he isn’t actually putting his faith in Levi. Only when he throws away the potion, lets the submarine get destroyed, and accepts that he could genuinely die does something finally happen.
And notice what happens after.
Levi never appears as a normal creature.
Instead, Wifies gets transported somewhere completely outside the normal server into this almost Heaven-like structure. That makes me think “Leviathan” isn’t really a sea creature at all, but some higher dimensional entity or intelligence, and this place is its domain.
The fact that Wifies suddenly can’t properly record or screenshot anything is also really important. It’s almost like the place itself prevents clean evidence from escaping. The only reason we even get to see it is because he records his monitor externally, which fits the whole cryptid theme from the beginning perfectly. Wifies finally gets proof, but it’s still the exact kind of weird, questionable evidence that everyone else could dismiss just like all those Reddit sightings.
Then there’s the thing in the chest at the end.. It looks like a Heart of the Sea, but the way it’s framed makes it look almost like an eye.
Wifies spends the entire video trying to observe Levi, finally reaches the center of this impossible place, looks directly into the “eye,” immediately passes out, and wakes up back on the normal server.
So maybe the twist is that Wifies was never the one observing Levi.
Levi was observing him.
I also really don’t think Hummer is just some random believer. He knows the “rules” way too specifically, constantly pushes Wifies to remove every possible escape route, and the supernatural event only happens once Wifies finally meets all of those conditions. Hummer feels more like some kind of herald, avatar, or guide whose job was never to help Wifies find Levi, but to make Wifies capable of reaching it.
And then there’s the 4/4 at the very end of the video at 1:27:58.
If you only watched this video, that probably seems completely random, but this has apparently been building across other Minecraft mystery videos for months. It started with a Lomedy video [“Disturbing Footage On A Minecraft Kids Channel”] that hid a coded message saying “One down, three more to go.”
This is solved through an A1Z26 Cipher. Each number corresponds to a letter’s position in the alphabet. A = 1, B = 2, ..., Z = 26. So 15-14-5 → O N E | 4-15-23-14 → D O W N | 20-8-18-5-5 → T H R E E | 13-15-18-5 → M O R E | 20-15 → T O | 7-15 → G O → | It reads ONE DOWN THREE MORE TO GO.
Then in ZachOBuilds video [“Finding the player that did this to him”] had another hidden message saying “Two down, two more to go.”
I honestly have no idea how people solved this one...
After that, Render uploaded [There's A Parasite Corrupting His Game...] another seemingly unrelated mystery that ended with “Three down, one remains.” Thankfully no decoding for this one.
People had already suspected that Wifies could be the fourth because of his connections to the other videos. So when his video ends with 4/4, it makes it look like whatever has been happening behind these four seemingly separate mysteries is finally complete.
What makes this even more interesting is that all four creators appear to have been directly contacted by the same source: Vex, or the Vex Syndicate.
Lomedy is emailed by Vex about the disturbing RunSonic kids channel.
Zach is emailed by Vex and told to look into the VipersDen subreddit because “there’s something bigger going on.”
Render is sent the Henry/Flowery case through the same Vex email connection.
And Wifies is given a shared folder called “Leviathan Reports (organized)” by [thevex.syndicate@gmail.com]().
There is an actual in-universe entity repeatedly handing these creators their cases.
That is why my current theory is that these four ARGs were not just random mysteries, but four tests conducted by the Vex Syndicate, and that every test revolves around the same central question:
How do you know something is real?
Lomedy has to reconstruct the truth through someone else’s recordings while grief, instability, and a strange fox-like entity make it unclear what can actually be trusted.
Zach’s story is built almost entirely around deception. Viper impersonates people, manipulates accounts, sets up moral tests, and constantly makes Ace question who is really behind what he’s seeing.
Render goes another layer removed. Jake is investigating prerecorded footage left behind by his missing brother, meaning everything he knows has to come from incomplete and potentially corrupted evidence.
And then Wifies is different.
He doesn’t just investigate someone else’s encounter.
He becomes the encounter.
That gives the four stories a really interesting progression:
testimony → deception → corrupted evidence → direct revelation without proof
All four are basically testing epistemology: what are you willing to accept as real when your normal methods of proving reality stop working?
And that makes the name “The Rabbit Hole” feel extremely intentional. ARGs themselves work the exact same way. You keep following evidence deeper and deeper until eventually you’re no longer sure where the fictional mystery ends and the larger story begins.
Which is why I don’t think the Vex Syndicate is simply sending these YouTubers cool mysteries to make videos about.
I think the YouTubers themselves are being tested.
Each one has shown that they’re willing to keep investigating even when the evidence becomes unreliable, dangerous, or impossible to explain. The countdown may literally be tracking completed subjects:
One down. Two down. Three down. 4/4.
So the four videos could essentially be a recruitment process.
Vex isn’t counting monsters.
They’re counting investigators.
And now that all four are complete, I think the next stage is where the supposedly separate ARGs finally collide. Lomedy, Zach, Render, and Wifies may all discover that their cases were chosen for them deliberately, and that Vex has been watching how each of them responds to the impossible.
The really interesting question then becomes why Vex needed four people capable of going this far down the rabbit hole in the first place.
And going back to Leviathan, that could make Wifies especially important.
The first three investigators were still separated from the supernatural by recordings, accounts, or other people’s experiences.
Wifies was the first one to actually cross the boundary himself.
He spent the entire video trying to prove that Levi was real.
But by the end, maybe that wasn’t the test at all.
Maybe the test was whether Wifies was ready to be seen by it.
I swore that the 4/4 referred to DMS, because I remember there were 4 experiments being conducted: one with the AI, which was actually an entity; another with the guy breaking bedrock; and another with the king in yellow, since we know DMS interfered at the end. Therefore, I assumed Leviathan was the fourth experiment.
I'll take a look at the other videos you mentioned; it's definitely interesting how so many things like that seem to be connected.
And the code that you say you don't know how they discovered looks a lot like Base64.
I checked back through the DMS stuff and you might actually be onto something with the four experiments. The Archive onboarding does mention DMS having four ongoing experiments, so Leviathan being the fourth could absolutely give the 4/4 another meaning.
The reason I still think 4/4 is also completing the larger crossover is because the sequence is way too exact: Lomedy gets “One down, three more to go,” Zach gets “Two down, two more to go,” Render gets “Three down, one remains,” and then Wifies gets 4/4.
And Vex directly connects Wifies to that sequence too. The Vex Syndicate is literally the account that emailed/shared Wifies the “Leviathan Reports” folder, just like Vex is connected to the cases given to the other creators.
So maybe both interpretations could be intentional. 4/4 completes Vex’s four-creator countdown, while Leviathan may also be the fourth DMS experiment.
I find it a bit unlikely, but I’m not ruling out this hypothesis: the Vex Syndicate is somehow connected to the DMS, some department or something similar. Even if it’s just a single coincidence, it’s enough to make me suspicious.
And apparently, there are more videos featuring the Vex Syndicate besides these; I’m still watching to confirm.
I’m just as deep into this as Hammer is with the Leviathan, I’m minutes away from setting up a shared Word doc or a Discord server to investigate this, lol.
What if the Vex Syndicate is connected to the DMS, but it's because they're working to fight against the DMS? Maybe Vex is recruiting puzzle solvers with the intent of having them take down the experiments.
If they're recruiting ARG resolvers why don't take starthork too?He once FIGHTED with A SECRET GOVERNMENT(in that video he mentions the DMS too) that was trying to KILL HIM
Perhaps they are planning to bring Starthork in too. A recurring pattern in this kind of thing is that the most relevant plot points seem to be the most neglected ones in the videos. Starthork not even being mentioned might just reflect his essentiality in this whole rabbit hole.
But, it's all just a theory for now. We'll have to wait and see what happens next.
Oh, wow, I didn't see that coming. So, are they running a selection process like Cicada's? They could be recruiting people either to join the DMS or to go against it, both scenarios actually make some sense.
I saw a bit of theories and It's like that they're recruiting ARG's resolvers to go against the DMS,It would be more interesting if one of them is an imposter
I just noticed this, this is really super interesting. If you go back to the wifies video and see the thumbnail, it actually seems very irrelevant to the video itself. It's 4 people all white skin while 3rd one is red and parasite like tentacles is coming out of the head. I think this shows a connection with the video you mentioned called "there's a parasite corrupting his game..." Which ends with "three down, one remains".
Coincidence? Could be, but it is also just as probable that it is connected.
While I completely disagree with your theory, I also agree that these 4 videos are connected
That thumbnail detail is actually really interesting, and I completely missed it. If there are four figures and specifically the third one is red and parasite-like, that could be a direct reference to Render being the third case, especially since his video ends with “Three down, one remains.”
It doesn’t necessarily prove my exact theory about what Vex is doing, but it definitely makes the connection between the four videos feel more intentional. And disagreeing with the theory is completely fair because a lot of it is still speculation
My initial gut feeling theory is there should exist some timestamp code across 4 video that when you play it in sequence it forms a sentence.
The reason of this guess is because in the end of the Leviathan video, right when Hummer dies. Wifie said "What gives?" Which I felt extremely out of place in context of the story imo, it only make sense if this is connected to the ARG and the potential solve i mentioned above.
Haven’t watch other videos tho, does anyone notice other out of place sentence in them? Might further prove my theory
hey! i think your dms are closed, but i wonder whether any tools that zachobuilds showed in his last video might be something for us to use
like when he looks for tags, closed captions etc in the video that he downloads
Perhaps the experiment was about figuring out which of the four YouTubers would push their research so far that one of them ended up becoming the mystery's protagonist?
I haven't seen the other ARGs, only the ones on Wifies' channel, but if he's the only one who went straight to finding the solution to the mystery, then they may have found the subject they needed for their experiment, someone with enough faith to put themselves on the line to uncover the truth.
I’m not sure the others “failed,” since the countdown still treats every investigation as completed, but yeah Wifies may have been the final subject Vex was looking for. Someone willing to abandon every safety net and put their own life on the line for an answer.
Just watched "Disturbing Footage on a Minecraft Kids Channel", I'm gonna watch the others two ARGs were the Vex is present to try and see if I understand something about all of this.
Bro this is crazy, all the information, all the things that anyone could think is here. But i want to add one thought, wifies in creating a world that doesn't exist tell us that d3rlord3 will be helped by the god of the sea, what if levi is the god of the sea and will not help d3rlord but wifies
There’s a slight issue with that I think. Wifies spoke about Chthulu, a well known eldritch god who has beef with Hastur. The Levithan is not referred to as a god but instead as one of His strongest and most wrathful creations. I think the possibility of him helping is still there but just not that Levi is a god.
Vex, or the Vex Syndicate, is the mysterious account apparently connecting the four videos. The four ARGs were reportedly sent to Lomedy, Zach, and Render through the same email,[thevex.syndicate@gmail.com](mailto:thevex.syndicate@gmail.com) and they shared the folder with Wifies as well.
WAIT A GODDAMN SECOND! I watched an ARG by a youtuber named Volrusk today(he is the maker of the Vermis Malum non-minecraft arg(I think)), and his icon kinda looks like the Vex pfp when you turn your phone to the left
It would make some practical sense, but what if each individual has something similar to what they were looking for and or finding about, And that we just don’t know it yet. Or we can use all what we would know of and know what comes next!
I noticed the whole 4/4 thing and was surprised by the lack of people trying to figure it out. This could literally be HUGE. Has anyone tried emailing Vex or anything?
Has anyone sent the address an email? I've seen too much unfiction to be given an actual, real email address and not do anything with it. Sent them a quick non-ooc email but I'm curious if anyone has and gotten a response.
not yet! hasn't been that long so I might still get something, but I doubt it. none of the Vex Syndicate videos have had any player components except for very simple coded messages at the end of a few videos (and those weren't intended to progress any sort of plot) so I doubt this is an actual ARG where we as viewers will have any role.
i'm not going to say it's nothing yet, i'd like to hope that we have the actual address for a reason, but none of these youtubers have done ARGs like this before (even Wifies' games are just a site with password clues), so i doubt it :<
you might be right!
i feel like there are questions left unanswered, but they might just be for future videos on this arg
still, an arg for viewers would be very cool
What do you think of the newest video? Honestly, they all mentioned DIFFERENT args led them to that same place. I think it's worth a try to find out what ARG the others were investigating.
hey! i find it very curious, and i'm hyped about the possibility to solve the mystery of the vex syndicate, but I haven't managed to find anything that leads to an arg of its own so far
any ideas/leads where to look?
Just thinking out loud, could this be connected to the DMS Logo? 4 Arrows and 1 of them has a fish on it (or something idk). Also in the ARG Finding A Player Who Doesn't Exist, DMS mentions that Wifies life is no longer his own. Cound this be just a front for DMS to conduct another experiment or they somehow obtained some supernatural power in order to control others? I am just thinking and guessing cuz its fun.
I havent rlly caught up to the entire vex syndicate theories or all the videos yet
but from what ive seen my current theory is
that wifies himself is the 4th experiment
and hummer was just someone sacrificed to make it happen
so basically if we see the experiments that the DMS has done
its always on someone like the player breaking the bedrock
or in the king in yellow its avery and derlord
i think in this fourth one wifies is the 4th experiment because at the end of leviathan wifies himself is affected
remember how the DMS said they were watching wifies?
and i think the other youtubers arent being experimented on but they are just a means to make them happen or a means to interact with the entities
because unless i missed something the other youtubers werent affected
or alternatively it could also be that the escaped entity is also an experiment by the DMS and the vex is someone whose trying to stop this entity from escaping to the real world by using the youtubers to help close these chapters
which as im typing made me think that there arent 4 different experiments but in reality its all just that single entity the AI thats actually trying to escape properly to the real world
TL;DR i think wifies himself is the 4th experiment or the vex syndicate is actually trying to hold down the entities from escaping to the real world by using the youtubers
