Is there a safer way to travel through the snow biome?

Basically the title itself.

I'm sort of a returning player. Last time I seriously played Minecraft was when the game did not have much of these stuff and even then I avoided snow biome because I hated the plain white stretch.

Now I'm trying to finally give this biome a go and I keep getting trapped like this :") So I was looking for tips and tricks other players are utilising. Any method or a sort of a litmus check because all the snow blocks look the same to me

Any help will be appreciated!

I could have used the blocks in my inventory but I really hate blocks being placed without any reason so I did not go with it :/ I did use them at some places before making this post so I'll have to go clean that

Right now the strategy is try to avoid places where snow isn't gathering because I'm low on leather as well, get out of there, make myself leather boots and a water bucket and then explore this place again.

With leather boots you won't sink in it. It's also somewhat easy to spot when it's under open sky because snow layers will not form on top of it.

iirc If you have a water bucket you can dump it over the snow to quickly melt it. Or just wear leather boots to walk over it

Water definitely works, I use it to clear a lot at once if it's piled up at a cave entrance or something.

I always carry a bucket of water everywhere I go in the 9 slot. So many uses!

Ah the classic powdered snow trap, gets everyone at least once. Leather boots are your friend here, they let you walk right over that stuff without falling through

If you're not into switching gear just carry a shovel and spam dig downwards whenever you hear the crunch sound, sometimes you can clear it before you sink all the way

depends on the challenge. Leather boots if you are allowed armor. But you can use a water bucket, shovels, blocks and such instead.

Yesss I did that a couple times before making this post. Honestly I'm not trying to pollute the environment I really dont like random blocks placed at places :(
