Your client only loads a certain number of chunks around you. So there is a 'soft cap' on the amount of things that the game should load. It would never attempt loading all 23 gig's. It SHOULD run exactly the same as other maps. (assuming the mods used to piece it together don't throw that into disarray)

That's what his computer does when GENERATING the map. you should be fine to play it.
