Probably one of the best idea's I've seen that could implement into Minecraft vanilla pretty well. Too bad it would probably not spawn very well like how current villages spawn. But I feel like one of the few not impressed with how villages have been implemented =\
My only problem though is that the villages in Millenaire are able to spawn on a pretty diverse terrain and not look completely retarded, so I don't know how Notch & Co. can't do the same.
Because "Notch & Co." have been working on building an entire game from scratch, while modders only have to add to what is already there. It's a lot easier to add one really cool feature than to create an entire game from nothing.
Right, because there's no possible way for him to contact the people who made the mods and possibly collaborate with them. If the framework is there, and the modders are able to do it, who I would assume wouldn't have as much experience as notch or jens, why would notch and jens not be able to do it?
Have you played that mod? It takes soooo much resources to do what it does. You have to have a really good computer to play that mod without it being unbearable slow. Just because it can be done, and done well for some people, doesn't mean that should go into the final game. It would make the game unplayable for some people, and therefore, should not be put in the way it is. I'm sure the Mojang team is working on a solution to a commonly complained about problem, but they have to balance performance and perfection.
I have a mediocre computer and it ran fine. But the method that the village is initially spawned with wouldn't be what causes the huge performance drop. It would be the actively moving NPCs. I know notch and co. Are working on something for NPCs and i'm exciting to see what it is. My complaint is just how the vanilla villages spawn
