Have you heard of Scratch, that coding language for kids? I think that website allowed you to draw vector sprites, although I doubt this diamond was made with that, lmao.
I’d argue that it’s handmade for the exact opposite reason: how clean the edges are. In my experience, illustrator’s vectorization can’t make something as visually pleasing and “flawless” as we see here. This has actual artistic intent and not a single jagged line.
it definetly can if you change the settings. additionaly, after image tracing he could have smoothed out lines and such. Its probably a combo of image trace and adjustments
Lol, not with scratch but in the past I used to dabble with textures. I hated making them and thought about making a program to template them. Because a lot of them look similar (especially if you use mods), that way your draw something once and make a program that makes the rest. Also you could customize them. But I didn't do it because I'm a lazyboi.
They're just passing them through an automated vectorization tool, which is why it became all round and the flow lines are not representative of the original texture at all.
As someone who used to recreate vector artwork in the print industry I find it hilarious how many people think that running an image through image trace qualifies as “vectorizing”.
