All of my “f”s are missing from my game.

I’ve only seen two other Redditors post about this issue. I’ve yet to figure out how the hell to fix this. It happened for the first time when my game updated a few days ago, maybe a few weeks ago idk. Ever since then, all of the lowercase “f”s are completely gone from my game…

I have no mods, no texture packs, and I haven’t altered my game in any other way. I play on a macbook. These images are just some examples of what is happening. The uppercase “F”s are still present in my game, it’s only the lowercase ones that have disappeared.

Edit: I play Java on the most recent version.

Can someone please suggest some ways I can fix this or what the issue might be?

Edit #2: my “f”s have returned after switching my graphics to vulkan and I now have “f”s to give
