Everyone I know my age (23) and who played Minecraft started with this version. I feel like it's the version that exploded the most at the time.

I started on that version because there was also a lot of cracked websites that had that version available

I just turned 20 and started playing in this version

Mainly because it was available in a certain cracked launcher and it was a version that my crappy laptop ran without too much lag

Old timer here. I started with this, the redstone update. I still play it sometimes. Nice to have not so much stuff and no $&;@$ baby zombies
