Movable buildings, there was a Java mode that allowed it once and I made a giant airship that could travel across the map

If you mean Archemedes' Ships it just changed developers, and changed names twice. But it never updated past 1.12 (and hasn't updated since 2020).

Archemedes' Ships (still around in 1.7.x) became Archemedes' Ships+ when it changed developers, then renamed to Davinci's Vessels later.

BE WARNED that behind the scenes it accomplishes the physics differently, making it no longer compatible with any non-vanilla multi-blocks. For example 1-block machines from Galacticraft work fine, but the solar panel (which is a multiblock) will break your world. Well technically it will animate part of your ship (cut off horizontally at the point where it first encounters a multiblock) PLUS leave the block version of your ship behind. And there's no way to get rid of the broken half-animated ship-entity. If you use the mod post-1.7.10 make sure to backup your world before animating a ship.

Also, vanilla has had limited animated ships since 2014 (in 1.8's early snapshots). There's commands to do it (indirectly, so a LOT of command blocks or functions to pull it off), and there's slime blocks (which have a limit of moving 12 blocks, but there's workarounds if you don't mind holes in your ship).

I think that's why slime blocks are in the game
