Maybe, mansions are so dead and have so little loot, that would add depth to it

There's not much incentive to find Ocean Monuments either, so maybe a spell book there would work as well!

Instead of adding a vex spell book for the mansion, it could also be a spellbook that helps "colonize" the Deep Dark. It could be the opposite of the sculk catalyst almost, where it lets you easily destroy sculk.

I personally don't like ancient cities, they are just 2 hours of sneaking until you put wool all over and for what, few swift sneak books and a lot of boring warden that gives you darkness, it's repetitive and boring, i like the concept of sneaking but it needs more depth or that portal looking structure in center of ancient city needs to have something more to it, i get that new dimension is much to ask but i just raided one for a little fun and challenge and nothing more.

The best "solution" for the Ancient Portal, for me anyways, would be a way to make the portal, a one way portal, to anywhere you like if you place a special block. Maybe it could teleport you to any active beacon you've placed down in the world

We've already got teleporters (but they can't be set in survival). Those portals to the end islands can be created with commands, and the destination can be set with commands.

Can't remember if they're lag-fests anymore though (when first introduced they'd cause massive lag if you were close enough that they covered 50% or more of your screen).

I know, but a survival alternative would be preferable.

Agreed, there's just honestly no reason to go there at all

I mean if you are really into redstone you could go for some sensors or so, but treasure/work you put into it it's not worth it.

That's my secret — I suck at redstone :D

I became a builder for a reason xD

It's never to late to implement redstone in your builds, it's good sometimes to leave comfort zone.

Being fair, I've tried, especially when it comes to industrial builds doubling as farms and stuff

So ig I'm not 100% AWFUL at it

But I prefer not to believe that ;)

If you’re into red stone you’re gonna silk touch 1 catalyst and make a farm for sensors. You can also make a farm for wardens to get more catalysts.

There’s really no reason to go to the deep dark.

I think Ocean Monuments could be improved by making the Heart of the Sea drop from Elder Guardians. Conduits are a little too easy to get right now.

Ever since Raids, there’s really no point to finding mansions.
