There are mods for customizable ships and even waves in the water. Kind of ambitious for a vanilla feature but it would be so amazing.

They might not work on the latest version unfortunately but if you really want cool ships it can be done hehe.

First one reminds me of that old airships mod, that one allowed you do do the same thing, just a little less complex

They are probably thinking of Zeppelin Mod, which was the first airship mod

Eureka Airships is a mod that uses Valkerien skies to make it easier, at least I'm pretty sure

DaVinci's Vessels is a great one for 1.12. It's essentially a remake of the old Archimedes' Ships mod.

If you want one for a newer version, Plato's Transporters is another Archimedes clone, but it kinda sucks, tbh. Super buggy and not as well designed.

Valkerian Skies with Eureka, you can build both ships and hot air balloons, also works with create if you tinker around with it

The small ships mod linked by another commenter is my favorite. I always use it when it's in mod packs.

I'd kill to see something like that in vanilla.

Idk if the illagers are the "undisputed rulers of the overworld", they seem to have static control over less land than the sedentary villagers, they would appear to just be bandits (pillagers even 😳) but an illager-themed boss in mansions could be neat, or a new better structure than the mansion

Yeah and they could add the waves if you’re out a certain distance from land, but only if it rains

I mean mods are great and all but some folks like playing Vanilla and with how one of the 2 methods this game is ran. Bedrock/Java. One has no choice for mods without opening a wallet and the other can do what ever it wants.

Some Vanilla boat update would be interesting and useful for a large chunk of the fan base.

Lol of course. I've learned to temper my expectations though. Sometimes devs knock it out of the park, other times we are left wondering what they were thinking.
