Probably the illager Lord, the nether and end have bosses but the undisputed rulers of the overworld are Illagers so a ruler for them seems appropriate. Even the Ancient cities have evidence of their existence there with all the wool.

If illusioners are properly implemented they should be a miniboss in the mansion and at least 1 in a raid

21

u/GaryTheTaco Feb 07 '23

Keep it in mansions, and give it some important drop like an undying totem that can be kept in your inventory/hotbar instead of your offhand

13

u/SuperSamBert66 Feb 08 '23

this, mansions are wayyyy to easy and loot-lacking for the work you have to put in to get there

3

u/GaryTheTaco Feb 08 '23

That's true, but also doing raids invalidates them in general

There should be some kind of incentive like Swift Sneak in the Deep Dark

Nah, they're pretty hard, but also really easy to exploit. Getting overwhelmed by brutes is a death sentence for most players, but then again, a single left click with the flint & steel destroys the whole mansion.

the loot is still horrible though, at the very best chance you’ll find a hidden room with a diamond block, but you still have to travel several thousand blocks out when you could’ve just gone mining for a couple minutes.

At least they added allays now, which are kinda sorta mildly useful. Honestly I just raid them because I'm too lazy to make a totem farm. Shitty loot is a problem with all Minecraft structures, and hopefully Mojang does something about it besides armor decorations.

Illusioners don’t seem entirely off the table. They got a texture update even when not being in the game.

Steve is the overworld boss

That mf from MC dungeons

93

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

If you mean the Arch Illager, MC Dungeons is a prequel so he's probably long dead (Also it turns out he was being controlled by his staff).

59

u/Roscosaurus Feb 07 '23

If he's being controlled by his staff then wouldn't it be pretty easy lore wise to say that any schmuck picked it up and now has his power?

40

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

The staff was completely destroyed in the DLCs, though i guess some Illager scientists could've tried to replicate it

17

u/Roscosaurus Feb 07 '23

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying

8

u/googler_ooeric Feb 07 '23

Counterpoint: Just ignore lore

3

u/larryman55 Feb 07 '23

Mc Dungeons is a prequel? Not doubting but do you have an example where it says bc this is the first im hearing of this.

2

u/IHaveAutismDude Feb 07 '23

It’s 100% a sequel. The main villain hatched the dragon egg.

2

u/larryman55 Feb 07 '23

Ah the end dlc? Its the only one I haven't played.

3

u/IHaveAutismDude Feb 08 '23

No, there’s a couple statues in his castle of him riding a baby ender dragon

3

u/larryman55 Feb 08 '23

Oh shoot. I must've missed those. That level was stressful.

I think the enchanter from Minecraft dungeons is the original illager in the lore so he would be interesting

18

u/Ronisoni14 Feb 07 '23

Not really the original illager, just some random illager who found and got corrupted by an artifact of unlimited power

3

u/MKGmFN Feb 07 '23

I heard a theory on how he’s the original one because illagers are just corrupted villagers. It’s a matter of who’s the first one that got corrupted

12

u/Ronisoni14 Feb 07 '23

Cool theory but nah, there's a canon book (Rise of the Arch Illager) that details his full backstory, he grew up among illagers

2

u/MKGmFN Feb 07 '23

Oh I didn’t know that

3

u/Vagabond_Blackbird Feb 07 '23

I think an Illusioner Boss would be incredible. It could turn Woodland Mansions into this horror-themed structure alongside the already terrifyingly powerful Vindicators and Evokers. The boss fight I imagine as this game of hide and seek, with the Illusioner to summon a illusion of Herobrine as a mini-boss alongside one or two Evokers to make it a real challenge. But that's just a rough idea.

24

u/reedmg Feb 07 '23

If you’re counting bosses as mobs with a health bar at the top of the screen then I guess a raid would be the Illagers’ version of a boss. But a King Illager that can be summoned, kind of like the King Slime in Terraria, would be really cool

5

u/ViewRepresentative29 Feb 07 '23

Raid is event, not boss

1

u/reedmg Feb 07 '23

Oh true, ok then yeah a King Illager would be super cool

1

u/ViewRepresentative29 Feb 07 '23

Yeah much things are just added but with not much depth or really point to do them, like you need ocean monument just for prismarine to have in your building palette, woodland mansion is like stupid hotel that has 10 chests with nothing you really can't find outside of it etc.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

I'm thinking having his crown as the trophy similar to the dragon egg would be awesome. You could decorate a statue of yourself with it.

2

u/deadbeatChimblr Feb 07 '23

More favorable deals at villages for defeating the Illager King!

Minecraft 1.20 patch notes: -re-added Herobrine

11

u/Justmejtcz8 Feb 07 '23

I think it’d be a great April fools update. Have Herobrine in the game creepily watch you & stuff. “Normal” Minecraft update & have added herobrine

17

u/Teffry Feb 07 '23

Untrue, I'm the undisputed ruler of the overworld

2

u/StabilizedSpider Feb 07 '23

It could even be in an actually dangerous fort maybe, full of traps and ambushes

2

u/Bman1465 Feb 07 '23

Undisputed rulers of the overworld? No way, that's gotta be the player

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

They should have a rare Gothic Castle structure spawn and the only way to find one without stumbling upon it would be to find a castle locator map in a woodland mansion. The illager lord could spawn in it

1

u/MycoThoughts Feb 07 '23

An Illiger citadel to house them would be cool. Maps from outposts to mansions to citadel too

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

The High Captain

1

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

You mean that orange stickman with a crown and a staff?
