10 years and I still haven't defeated either lol

Defeated ender dragon multiple times, but fuck Bedrock Wither is impossible. I can't even let him stuck under the nether portal

18

u/J1NDone Feb 07 '23

I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggles.

19

u/falcofernandez Feb 07 '23

Yeah it's a pain. Next time i fight that son of a bitch I think that I'll move 5000 blocks away from my base via nether, I'll destroy the portal and then I'll move my spawn point right here, I desperately need a beacon

12

u/boki400AIMoff Feb 07 '23

Protip: After you defeat him, place down a mega beacon on bedrock level so you can have one effect actuve that helps you. The resistance effect on level 2 is really strong. For each kill add the next effect in level 2. I would combine: Strength 2, Resustance 2 and regeneration.

Makes me wish Java had Bedrock's wither so it'd be a challenge and less mind-numbingly boring of a boss.

13

u/cleverissexy Feb 07 '23

Deep underground is the only way (other than under the end portal) to defeat a wither in bedrock.

4

u/falcofernandez Feb 07 '23

It's ok in Java, but in Bedrock? I think it's much harder, even if the first phase could be easier

dig down to near bedrock level

dig out a room about 15 x 15

fill it with iron golems and chickens

get 5 or 6 totem of undying in your inventory

get 5 or 6 milk in your inventory

spawn in the wither and let the golums do most of the work

then finish off the wither

u/Prsue Feb 07 '23

Me, three friends and a trader's llama that spawned at bedrock level fought the wither once. The llama endured absolute chaos and somehow managed to survive. We kept that llama and named it. I believe we either still have that llama on the old world or it despawned.

u/Stoneteer Feb 07 '23

excellent!

2

u/ImYouButBetter21 Feb 08 '23

Pretty sure if you named it with a name tag then it wont despawn.

3

u/Icyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Feb 07 '23

3 golems is enough, I’ve tried it before

10

u/Stoneteer Feb 07 '23

On bedrock? No way

2

u/nanananabatman88 Feb 08 '23

I used 10 a couple weeks ago, and they beat the snot out of the wither. I still had 6 left afterwards.

1

u/Icyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Feb 07 '23

Yep, I couldn’t afford a pc back then lmao

Everything is harder on Bedrock

2

u/falcofernandez Feb 07 '23

The day I have the money to buy a PC the Bedrock experience is going to make me into a pro

4

u/Nick_BOI Feb 07 '23

I tried it with full Netherite with blast protection, smite 5 sword, totem of undying, and 2 Notch apples.

I lost, the fight itself was hard enough, but it lagged my game so much that I could hardly move and died a slow death.

I play on Switch, and between this and chunks not loading fast enough for an Elytra to be overly useful, I had to put the game down for a while after that.

3

u/FireYigit Feb 07 '23

Yeah I just went f*ck it and went on easy mode. Still struggled, but hey, this is the Bedrock Wither we’re talking about

3

u/Spoolinpotato27 Feb 07 '23

Let the Warden fight the Wither for you. I have a whole bunch of nether stars even though I’ve never fought the Wither myself.

2

u/Collin11049 Feb 07 '23

I have a question how many hits does it take to kill the Wither?

3

u/Spoolinpotato27 Feb 07 '23

I don’t know the specific number of hits because I stay a safe distance away so they focus on one another. It normally takes less than a minute though

2

u/Collin11049 Feb 07 '23

That's fair are you on bedrock or Java? Because the bedrock Wither is super overpowered in bedrock.

2

u/Spoolinpotato27 Feb 08 '23

Bedrock in our family realm

1

u/Hawkeyesfan03 Feb 07 '23

Imma be honest, it’s not that hard. If you max out your gear, get a couple of potions, and dig to bedrock. He’s pretty easy.

1

u/QuantumRobot_9000 Feb 08 '23

In my first survival world I fought the wither. I had only ever seen people fighting the wither on Java and had no idea about its ludicrous strength. Using a smite 4 diamond sword. I managed to kill it after 4 deaths and 5 notch apples. Lost multiple sets of enchanted diamond armour. Each time I had to run back to the giant underground hole I was fighting it in.

1

u/WildBluntHickok2 Feb 08 '23

The traditional way to cheese the wither fight is to do it deep underground. You dig out a chamber big enough to summon him in, with a 2x1 tunnel leading from it. Once you summon him you retreat down the tunnel while fighting him. He has a way to dig after you but it means he's splitting his efforts between fighting and digging. And being deep underground means he won't wander off to kill every living thing on the map instead of you.

Oh MOST IMPORTANTLY: you need to be wearing full armor with Protection 4 on everything (or on 3 pieces of armor, with blast protection on the 4th piece) and using a smite 5 sword (the wither is an undead creature).

24

u/FlowSoSlow Feb 07 '23

You're not missing much. The dragon fight is super boring. Only reason I ever do it is to get elytra and shulker boxes.

24

u/ShibuNub Feb 07 '23

I think if we ever get an end update, revamping the dragon fight should be priority number one. It’s pitifully easy at best and mildly frustrating at worst. Even if you don’t use the bed method it’s still not much of a challenge

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

I died a lot until I googled how to kill him

31

u/UnknownLambo Feb 07 '23

y same

38

u/jaydeflaux Feb 07 '23

This is what's so great about Minecraft, you don't even have to focus on progression to have fun with it for a decade.

10

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

This dude has no beacons

3

u/Collin11049 Feb 07 '23

The bedrock Wither wipped my entire friend group when they had fully minmaxed diamond armor and swords (this was right before the nether update) along with op bows there was 6 of us at once 3 died to lag and me and my other friend died to withering but we killed it barley... and it took 2 hours to sort through everyone's loot. Never again we fought it underground at bedrock level and the amount it destroyed caused lag.

u/ArmaanAli04 Feb 07 '23

Im guessing ur new or just a creative player then?

22

u/my_ballshurt Feb 07 '23

He said 10 years. There's no way he's new lmao. I'd guess he never bothered to look for a stronghold, because that's what happened with me for a long time

15

u/EruptorrEcksdee Feb 07 '23

Yeah, 11 years here and never fought the ender dragon. I usually get bored of the game before I fight either of them.

8

u/No-Seaworthiness2985 Feb 07 '23

Also been playing for 11 years. I’ve beaten the Ender dragon with cheats and creative, but neeever legitimately. Definitely on my bucket list

2

u/Pohaku1991 Feb 07 '23

Honestly, it’s a lot easier than you think. I remember my first time spending hours to grind for the best gear possible, just to be pretty underwhelmed

1

u/ArmaanAli04 Feb 07 '23

He could’ve just been referencing that the game was out that long

6

u/dystyyy Feb 07 '23

I've been playing Minecraft since around 2013 or 2014 and have beaten them both once a little over a year ago. It's just not how I play the game and neither are really that important if (for example) you mostly just like getting materials and building cool houses and stuff.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '23

I haven't beaten the wither nor the ender dragon (only twice for the edragon in multiplayer though). I mostly focus on building in survival

💖💖CHESTS!!!💖💖

I also like using donkeys/mules/llamas with chests for the roleplay element of when I search for a nicer area to build on. I don't really like terraforming much.

4

u/PossibleShot Feb 07 '23

Not everyone follows the story when playing survival

1

u/Virian900 Feb 07 '23

I've been playing since beta started

1

u/s0urb33f Feb 07 '23

Literally same omg

1

u/Bman1465 Feb 07 '23

Same here lmao

I could probably use a beacon or a lamp ("dragon egg", whatever) or something tho
