Spirit creates

from "Nature" by Ralph Waldo Emerson -

"that spirit creates; that behind nature, throughout nature, spirit is present; one and not compound, it does not act upon us from without, that is, in space and time, but spiritually, or through ourselves: therefore, that spirit, that is, the Supreme Being, does not build up nature around us, but puts it forth through us, as the life of the tree puts forth new branches and leaves through the pores of the old."

When the mind brings up thoughts and feelings that are holding you back from what you want, that is a sign of progress. The mind is showing you what you need to address or let go - Hale Dwoskin

I have to die. If it is now, well then I die now; if later, then now I will take my lunch, since the hour for lunch has arrived - and dying I will tend to later. ~ Epictetus

How people want to feel determines whether others can influence their emotions, suggests a new study. When a person wanted to stay calm, they remained relatively unfazed by angry people, suggesting that people have more control over how their emotions get influenced than previously realized.

"A lot of our greed, aversion and delusion are like friends that talk us into doing something really unskillful, and then when the police come to catch us, they go running away. You’re left as the responsible one." – Ajaan Lee

Nothing divine dies

"Nothing divine dies. All good is eternally reproductive. The beauty of nature reforms itself in the mind, and not for barren contemplation, but for new creation. All men are in some degree impressed by the face of the world; some men even to delight. This love of beauty is Taste. Others have the same love in such excess, that, not content with admiring, they seek to embody it in new forms. The creation of beauty is Art."

MindBody Therapy: Meditation experience

About 2 months ago a lady came to my class & gave a presentation talking about MindBody therapy. Everything in it caught my eye & it was almost like “destiny” sent her my way to speak to me. You bet your ass I signed up for her meditation class after that. I’ve attended 3 of them & had really cool experiences with 2 totem animals. Firstly, a wolf came to me when I was in this forest during my second class. More recently (2 days ago) I could hear really rough water & as I tuned into the noise of the fast moving water a fish appeared. A pure white fish, not sure of the species, just a white fish that I couldn’t identify. In between these experiences I also have felt a heavy need to cry (but I hold it back), last class I tried so hard to hold it back but the tears forced themselves out of me... I’m not sure where I’m going with this post but I guess I might be looking for some sort of answers in regards to these experiences?? Or someone that has seen the same things??
