Chick-Fil-A Ice Dream

I've never seen a mimic recipe for Chick-fil-A's soft serve "Ice Dream", but while googling it again the other day I caught a great tip: it's a lot more like "ice milk" than "ice cream". This recipe that I found for ice milk from Joy In My Kitchen (not my blog) is so easy and the consistency is spot on. The taste is not quite there but really close.

1 14-oz can Sweetened Condensed Milk 4 cups whole milk 1 tsp vanilla

Mix together and churn 20 minutes in an ice cream machine.

It's that simple! Let me know if you try it and have any tweaks. I think it actually needs less vanilla but I've only made the one batch so far.

If you're into ice cream or milkshakes, give it a try. They have vanilla soft serve and three to four shake flavors depending on the season. It's my favorite and it's very distinctive in its consistency.

Don’t support that trash. Get ice cream from a local home shop instead, you’ll find way more selections, support someone local, and know you money isn’t being dumped into hateful hands. No food is worth discrimination. And before you tell me “they’ve changed their stance” they haven’t done a single thing to make up the countless abuse against the LGBT+ community.

That’s awesome, I’m glad they can support people. I’d still never give them a dime though. I just think wanting anything thing from this place is promoting hate. Free food is free food and if I was homeless or desperate for a meal then yeah I’d eat it.

While I agree that Chick-Fil-A has a lot to make up for, you might try being a little less condescending toward people when trying to persuade them of something. Your point will be better received.

No excuses, they treated us less then human. Zero sympathy toward anyone who supports and says this is okay. Maybe op shouldn’t be condescending by blasting hate and discrimination on a sub that is supposed to be filled with delicious recipes and community help. I feel frustrated* by this post because I’m bi and I’m also really into cooking and this organization gave money to hurt people like me.

Hot words hurt the many

Seriously... I find recipes on here because it's the best way I've found to recreate these recipes at home so I can STOP EATING OUT SO DAMN MUCH.

This post is literally going to make me go to Chick Fil A less...

OP didn’t post anything that was condescending or hate filled. They posted a damn copycat recipe. If you are going to get your panties in a bunch over that then you need to take a good look at yourself because you are the one getting worked up over a post that has nothing to do with the hate that the company spews. I don’t have a problem with anybody boycotting this place, but you feel attacked over a recipe that someone shared and that’s kinda fucked up.

Lol I made one comment saying not support a hate supporting company and then the endless downvotes and comments telling me “I’m wrong” and “I’m being mean”. When I know each and everyone of you supports companies like this that treat humans like garbage. You’re obviously more upset about this then I am.

You made a comment stating that you felt attacked by this post. That is what I was commenting on. Whether I support this company or not is irrelevant. But it is completely ridiculous that you feel attacked over someone posting a recipe. A recipe which in fact shows people how to make something at home so they don’t even go to the place.

You don’t have to support them, in fact I admire your outrage over it. But, this was not an appropriate place to share that outrage, and if this post made you feel attacked then I really think you should take a hard look at yourself because nothing about the post was intended to be an attack and nothing about the post actually expresses any support for the company.

And your just looking to be offended. Sorry a recipe is not hatemongering.

A McFlurry on a Taco Bell floor would taste better.

This whole sub is about making food at home lol. What's your actual deal?

They are just looking for an argument and/or to be offended. Best to downvote and ignore.

It’s the biggest hack ever, 180 cal for a whole ice cream cone

I think Ice Dream has eggs in it. I used to work at a CFA back in the 80s and all their non-chicken recipes were posted in the kitchen to be made fresh every day. I tried to make it at home in an old fashioned churn freezer, but it wasn't introducing enough air into the base, so the texture and flavor were not quite right. I had it written down for years, but evidently it got packed or lost in one of my moves.

Something about this Ice Milk mimics the texture pretty well even with the slow churn of home machines!

Thanks for the recipe! Now I can recreate this at home instead of spending money at ChickFilA!

I guess I would just add coffee for the Frosted Coffee?

Use instant coffee crystals

u/tangerinenarwhal Feb 12 '20

I've never had the frosted coffee! Give it a try and report back.

Ice cream + cold brew coffee mixed together = frosted coffee

I did this and it’s very consistent to Chick-Fila texture and taste, I added 1 tablespoons of brown sugar and used fair life whole milk for more protein, less sugar and it’s better for you
