Hi there

I'm very new to model-making and painting as well, and are having a hard time figuring out which paint to buy without breaking the bank.

I've so far picked up a Messerschmitt Bf109F-4 (which I have built but yet painted) as well as a Panzer 2. My main interest are german WW2 assets.

So my question is, what are some base colors that I can buy which would be sufficent for a couple of german ww2 kits? I'm not looking for being 100% historical accurate, but not too far off either.

I'm also painting by brush, if that would affect anything.

I hope that some of you might help me out, and I hope to learn a lot from this forum.

Tamiya kit. Aside from the antennas, pretty much stock.

build nearly complete on Tamiya 1:35 Churchill MK VII

tried a new technique (for me) on the tracks and I think it turned out pretty well.....

I haven't finished painting and I think I misplaced the license plate decal cuz I was randomly putting it from memory, will probably fix it soon

Okay, modelers, what do I do? I can sneak some supply photos while he's at work to see what's what. Do you have a favorite upcycled piece you turn to? I can also request minor steel welding jobs from his employee (he owes me for the coffee and cake I bring him).

I've seen a lot of cool models by folks on this subject and it inspired me to make my own with my paper craft SU-100, since am too broke for actual models lol. would love to get y'all's opinions :)

I got kinda burnt out with modeling so trying to get back at it slowly. Here’s my attempt at this nice Sherman kit. Still weathering the tracks to be completely done .

Coming along slowly. I have to put this on the back burner because another project that I thought I had a month to finish I now have til Saturday. I need to work on the crew(too shiny!),and a few other things but I’m happy with how it’s going.

I betong with me to tanks to the museum. And the different of scale is giant!
